I cannot speak about how life for the regular people was like everywhere, but recently I spoke with my grandfather (who was 9 when the war ended) about his life and life in the immediate post war in France (and probably in most places from the grand overview I have of the period) was : misery. You had coupons to be able to get bread, you had to line up for hours to get a loaf, which had a great chance of being stale, and sometimes they'd be out of stock before you got there, and if you got the bread, you had to make it last. And mind you, he was living in Provence which was one of the regions least affected by the war, I am sure that elsewhere it was worse. This didn't look like a fun decade to be living in (especially for my grandfather who apparently saw his father shoot himself in the head with a shotgun and suddenly had to care for his mother and siblings at only 13 ....... And I'm sure he was far from the only child provider due to the war)

yea people often make a false connection between neutrality and pacifism. Switzerland wasn't peaceful neither was sweden, instead they where so militarized that it wasn't worth invading them especially when you already had more important wars going on

@@imnotnotgameiacmaniac5327 Well, there were other much more important reasons. For Switzerland, the germans had a lot of money in their banks, so invading them would be counter intuative. And for Sweden, Germany wanted their iron, but if they were to invade, all the iron fields would get bombed, so trade was more worth it.

In countries where hunger is a major problem, the number of calories ingested by the citizens daily rounds 1000 (half of the normal amount). In Madrid, in and after the war, it was around 600/700 calories. We needed more lentejas :(

I'm of Polski descent, tbh I'm sad that there were potential distant family members i won't get to meet due to these events. Im sad for the babies they slung into the air for target practice, the innocents, whose skins were made into lampshades, their valuables stolen now held by Soros, a disgusting man who lives to this day, rich off of my family's collected assets, fortunately my family were the ones to leave before the Holocaust, thus me being born. But it doesn't change what those Nazis did, what Soros did, what Hitler did..... Hell is treating all of them to their eternal torment im sure, and soon will come for Soros
