FTC/CFTC Risk Disclaimer - Please read this so you're 100% aware of the extreme risks associated with any type of trading and investing.
I’ve said for years and years and years - trading is extremely risky, and most people will lose all the money they try to trade with - even the people who follow the information I provide. Trading is a skillset that is difficult to learn, and I make it look easy because I’ve been trading for 7+ years. As with any high performing skillset in life, trading is NOT easy.
Your likelihood of consistently making money trading is abysmally low, whether you learn on your own or whether you follow the things that myself or others teach.
It’s like becoming a doctor, many people start pre-med and medical school, but only a tiny fraction of them succeed and actually become doctors. The average success rate of trading is even worse that that! Becoming a doctor is obviously not for everyone, and becoming a trader is obviously not for everyone, too.
I (and my company, MissionFX, LLC) make NO guarantees/promises/express direct or indirect representation that you’ll achieve any specific result trading, regardless of whether you’re following my free or paid content.
I’m just some random guy on the internet who is sharing what’s worked for me - I have no clue what will work for you because there are a million contributing factors that will determine whether or not you will make money trading.
Do NOT take into account any information that I share anywhere on the internet as the basis for your trading decisions. I’m not responsible for your success, nor am I responsible for your failures.
Read the full risk disclaimer on my website below, so that you’re 100% aware of the risks associated with trading - then you can make an informed decision as to whether or not you want to continue following any of the information I share (or continue to pursue trading in general).

All of what you said was me. I made the first year insanely overcomplicated. My life situation changed to decrease the time I have to sit at the monitor, so my strategy became heavily simplified and my ability to read price and pick out the zones of importance shot up dramatically. Now I'm focused on taking those 1:1 trades like you've recommended before, letting them play out and just learning. Developing the intuition. Your approach is so logical, simple, and almost painful to hear compared to how complex I tried to make trading. Having all the time in the world to sit and watch charts doesn't help me get better at reading price. This video hits home very hard

Was there ever a point where he said why 1:1 is good risk management?
@jgo5707
@jgo5707 3 ай бұрын
@@raphaeldeguzman7417 probably, he recommended 1:1 as an entryway to learning. Let the trade run and observe for a few weeks or months, to begin building the intuition. 1:1 plays out at about a 50% win rate, you'll learn a lot in the process. Logically, if you begin to manage trades with this intuition you could begin to learn to cut losers, extrapolating on that - if you cut half your losers early your average risk actually goes down and the 1:1 is only to enter a trade, your reward then goes above 1 risk. Say you cut it successfully enough so your average loss is $0.75 instead of the $1 you originally risked, on average. Your RRR is now skewed positively with all else being the same.

@@aaronhall4361 damn. I've been watching his vids passively for a few days now and it finally hit. I was focused on getting high RRs, and most of my trades get to a point where it is above 1:1 in profit.. but mostly loses due to the higher TP targets. I realized if I took 1:1 trades.. I can increase my winrate. So yeah basically I realized finally why I should start developing my winrate consistency before upping my RR thanks to this dude's ramblings about the topic. Also realizing that if I took just 1:1 or 1:1.5RR on all of them.. i would be in profit right now.

The key takeaway here for me is this: PRE-DEFINE your max loss and max profit -then let it play out. Thats literally the KEY. I was trading "open", with no idea of my profit target, or my stop loss. I was just entering a trade with no plan, then trying to hedge a losing trade with no real plan. Now that I have fixed that, the results are so much better, and my mind is so much more relaxed. Thanks Nick.

One way to mitigate risk is to take prop firm challenges, as the risk to reward ratio is high. That way you’re paying a small fee and can go fairly wild for profit on those prop accounts once passed. Trading your own hard earned capital is risky as you play the back and forth game as you say with your wins and losses. Trading your own capital will always bring emotion.

I consider it a small unreliable signal, but the edges can be good spots for entries. Do you think they work at all for picking direction or profit targets as many do? Great video! It's difficult to follow intuition at times because of the fear and greed emotions at play. If you can develop a clear intuition from the markets that could probably help. That said, it may be more important to have good risk management and to keep things simple than to follow intuition. I do agree though that intuition plays a part but I am not sure how accurate it is. Maybe it is something that people can log during their trades. A lot of times I have had an intuition about something and it goes the wrong way lol.

nice, pretty much same general thing i was doing back when i was using brokers with hedge mode enabled. 10xing an account is good. i'd make regular withdrawals just to make sure to protect some profits, because eventually price will continue in one direction with no way for you to get out, and will blow the account or at least fatally wound the account where you'll have to start over. which is perfectly fine if you've internal transferred profits over regularly

Some people are over weight and have no ambition to go for a walk.... Point is bro, the 95% of people that are unsuccessful, are the same people who jump strategies. Who don't let trades play out. Who try to trade 30 pairs..Who have 5 months experience with charts and can't understand why they're unprofitable... With nicks strategy it's 50/50 from the start.. forget what you think you know, use nicks strategy and backtest it for a year on demo.. Yes a year. Not twenty mins. Not a month.. You are failing yourself when you start trading live when you're not ready. U wouldn't jump on a bike for the first time and take off in a wheelie would you?? Stop thinking of it as making money, think of it as protecting your money. 95% fail because they just don't know what they're doing... Everyone can learn. Some are just not built for it.

Hello my friend, I am maybe one of fews that are pissed off by these videos. First of all, I am retail day trader and thankfully profitable. And yes; I sometimes watch youtube content about trading and search for some new ideas. I watched several videos from you and all what I saw was bunch of information like how difficult trading is, coupled with some charts in an upward trend and buy somewhere in the chart and get money or not. This certainly doesn't work and that's why the most will still lose money. But yes, your look is very mystic (dark hood, psychopathic glasses, etc.) and this gives you more credibility and is guarantee for higher success rate in trading :)

Hey Nick, what broker do you use? I've been learning how to trade since April of last year watching your videos. I much appreciate what you do by helping myself and others be successful at trading. Now that I've been profitable on a demo account for months I'm ready to go live, however I can't seem to find an unregulated broker that accepts U.S. clients. The few brokers that I find that do accept U.S. clients aren't able to communicate by phone. Maybe that's the norm but I wasn't exactly comfortable handing over my money to a broker that I can't speak to. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you

I have only been trading 8 months. I believe it takes money to make money. In other words, 8% of what? $10? $5,000? Big difference. I develop Auto bots to trade because I work all day, forex closes on the weekends, so the only time I have to trade is when I'm sleeping or working.

Folks would do themselves a favor taking this guy to heart. The messed up reality is that most people refuse to accept that this is true so they would rather click away and go buy some knucklehead forex trading course on a dream. Fully knowing in the back of their mind that it’s not going to help them learn how to trade or rather BEHAVE with the markets. 😢

Hi Nick, can you prove that the system you use works in the Crypto market (other than BTC and ETH)? Can you show it as you do over a random backtest period? I tried it but it didn't work out so well. Hope to learn more from you.

For transparency, Nick's trades 2024: -10 R loss Past year since i joined: 1 doubled and 3 blown accounts. Join at your own risk
@NickShawnFX
@NickShawnFX 4 ай бұрын
For transparency, as you say, here is my response. So far this year I'm down -65K in FX, first month was losing, last 2 weeks have been profitable, with YT videos I've made documenting it all, through the ups and downs. I've always been public about win streaks and losing streaks and literally show my account terminal and balance and equity and trades in my free Telegram channel, and have done this for 6 years. Additionally, there's no way to calculate my profitability in terms of multiples of "R" since that is not how my risk structure works, and due to the dynamics of me adding to profitable trades, adding to losing trades at the next levels to profit from the net position or breakeven on a losing trade, closing early, risking different amounts depending on the trade, etc... your -10R figure is not a metric that is even able to be calculated, so it sort of looks like you just made up this number. The appropriate way to denote this year so far is a loss of -65K for me, which is nothing unusual in terms of terms of losing streaks and winning streaks. They will always occur. Not to mention the fact that I've made over 150K this year from crypto alone, with entries on BTC and ALGO that I called towards the end of last year, publicly and in Discord. Past year since you joined (I don't know exactly when you joined, so your numbers might be off) - but since Jan 2023 I have grown 3 accounts, and lost money on 2 of the accounts. The 2 accounts that lost money did not actually blow, though, and of the 3 accounts that were grown, 2 were doubled and the 3rd one was grown from 100k to 175k. I wouldn't call that a blown account, as it might look that way to others as though you're insinuating that is the case. It literally ended in a 75K profit after a huge 2 month long winning streak in October and November - and the only reason I had to stop trading on that account was because MT5 pulled their licenses from almost every broker I use. I was very public about this in the free telegram channel and in discord, there has always been complete transparency. Last year was not my most profitable year ever, due to brokers losing their MT5 licenses and me switching to forex.com, with low leverage, high spreads, and no ability to hedge or use the position sizing with a small deposit that I've be able to do for the past 6 years - however it is misleading to post comments on my public KZbin channel insinuating that last year was not profitable, when it was, in fact, profitable (and very profitable when also adding in long term holdings of equities and crypto). It is very important to account for context, nuance, and subtleties in the examination of data, otherwise people can do what you've done, which is to make statements that insinuate things that simply aren't true.
