How many mechanics and/or owners would be throwing plugs, fuel pump, Fuel filter, coils, BCM etc at this issue until there 'maybe' a fix? Just proves what diligent diagnosis with the right equipment can do ... A masterclass in mechanics ... well done Rob ...

I was very interested in this video as my RTV is doing the same thing, it started last year after fitting a new alternator which proved to be faulty due to charging at 15.9 volts, it interfered with my electrics, ie central locking, fuel gauge failure, miss firing and so on. I have replaced the points plugs, angle crank sensor, and a few I've forgotten. Thanks to this i have just replaced the Maf sensor fingers crossed that it is the cause of my problems 🤞

Very thorough diagnosis. Got any experience with LPG BFs? I have one (FiL drives it) which cuts out (rapidly cuts in and out until you manage to accellerate past the 'dead spot') at a very specific throttle position. Which makes me think the TPS is faulty (the car has done 750k kms) but like any modern car it could be any number of things. Even our local gas expert is of the mind to just throw parts at it until the problem goes away (starting with coils, plugs, and leads).

@romanosautomotive2 жыл бұрын
Good question Clive. We are completely transparent with our customers. We have a diagnostic hourly rate and all time spent is agreed upon with the customer before going ahead. So they can choose when to stop or if they want to take it elsewhere to have the parts cannon loaded up. Spending time on tooling and training just raises our quality and reputation, and that reaps its own rewards with what we can do for our customers.

Kind of says allot about Ford quality, when the dealers can’t diagnose these engine faults. In 2003 the diagnostic codes were still primitive. Hopefully now they would pick up your fault and the map fault in this video.

The gas converter won’t freeze up unless your water level is so low it’s not getting water through it, as happened to me. My BA lpg sedan stalls randomly, but usually before engine at running temp, about once every 6 weeks. What chance to diagnose?

Cool mate 4.7v key on and 1.2v engine running same as AU , your a wiz mate .have you seen the damage e10 causes to fuel rails .Rusty rusty rusty. A simple check on fuel pump is to look for 600ml in 30 sec on the return line idling. More than that could indicate blockage at injectors because more fuel is returning rather than going into engine. And a low reading is worn pump or blockage at filter or line or reg faulty .Either way checking return volume is really good.
@romanosautomotive3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and the input 💪
@grantreid85832 жыл бұрын
E10 does more damage than people realise i first came across the stuff while working overseas in the mid eighties, it was early days for fuel injected cars and the ethanol was causing havoc it was gumming up injectors when the cars were left unused for a month or more. Even if you use it in a 2 stroke mixed with the correct amount of oil unused it will gum the piston up. It will gum piston rings up on a car causing a lack of compression it is basically dreadfull stuff that can wreck a car from one end to the other.
