As a trumpet player, I know how difficult this simple piece is. It requires great control and endurance. It doesn't seem so hard to play, but any trumpet player knows that there are very few people who could last through that and still have the strength and control until the very end, as if it was just the beginning.

@@jimstewart3239 He started on the flugel horn and switched to the trumpet halfway through. Regardless, for a question of having the chops to play it, the two instruments can probably be considered the same.

What feeling and depth to his solos. And his smiling and laughing in other videos shows such a wonderful personality. I've been a musician for over 30 years and you can tell how someone becomes a true soloist who leads an entire orchestra through their playing. I came to this video for inspiration during my covid19 - 3 week ICU stay. Most patients of 3 weeks don't actually make it and I almost didn't. Ryan gave me inspiration even though he passed just a few days before the ambulance picked me up to take me to the hospital. What a lingering inspiration he will be as he has been through the years. I hope thousands of people discover him and feel his kind nature and beautiful music throughout the years

Our marching band would play this every time we finished a performance. Why? Because it’s a reminder that wherever we went, wherever our paths diverged, we were all still apart of something. A band and those memories live inside of us. So we were never truly alone.

When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high And don’t be afraid of the dark At the end of the storm, there’s a golden sky And the sweet, silver song of a lark Walk on through the wind Walk on through the rain Though your dreams be tossed and blown Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you’ll never walk alone You’ll never walk alone Walk on, walk on With hope in your heart And you’ll never walk alone You’ll never walk alone

The song has so much meaning to a lot of us and even more now. Ryan always reminded me of Chris Botti with his style and even down to the way they held the Flugelhorn. This song has become a theme song for the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, and if you do not have the words memorized to Walk alone, it is very moving as a reverence for those who have walked on to another place in life. Ryan you will be missed.
