Great humor! Here in California the coconuts grow under ground. That makes them hard to find which is why people think you can't grow them here LOL! Good helper you have there! Another great job!

At least your coconuts would be nice and cool underground out of the Californian sun!

This is a you tube 1st, and you certainly went "nuts" on it! Over 10' plus $50, laminating coco husk plus $150.

Thanks for the video. Will you list the epoxy product or link to your previous video? "bearing paste", marine epoxy glue? Is there an equivalent in the US (LOCTITE 9490 ? )

Gday! I hesitate to list products I use only because supplies in NZ are so limited and I have to wait for many of them to come into the country quite often! I can tell you though that the filler is a marine fairing compound which most boat/marine stores should stock and the resin I use is Entropy CLR 🤙

i think they used the coconut as a replacement for devinicell. like a poor mans sandwich. that way they get the stiffness over the eps. what i mean is that you need glass under the coconut and on top. otherwise great execution. :-)

Yup, that makes sense! Although I like to think they just love coconut water and meat and needed somewhere to put their compost 😆

What’s your approach for finishing sanding epoxy repair after the clear coat? So you do the repair sand the hotcoat up to whatever your preference is, paint, clear coat, then what?
@smallkinedings
@smallkinedings 5 ай бұрын
Once the epoxy is cured it just becomes like any other material you might paint. I get it wet sanded up to 400 or 600 wet for paint, clear coat and then sand the clear coat with either 600 or 800 wet and polish

Hey mate, great video. Thanks again for all you do! You're a legend. There's very few people out there that would provide this much help to people they didn't know and reply to all of the comments for nothing in return. Being new to surfing and repairs I have made the mistake in buying a NSP board.. Lucky me haha. I wish I had seen this video before I did. Wondering if you might be able to help me. After repairing a small ding and fibre glassing/applying resin I have sanded it down following your guidance in the sanding vid ( another amazing video! ). I have now spray-painted the area and are finding I can see the outline of the dots of the fibreglass cloth. Is this due to not enough resin over my cloth? When i had finished sanding I couldn't feel any fibres of the cloth it felt hard from the resin. I'm not fazed about it as it's my board but would be a good learn for me going forward. Sorry about the big yarn. Thanks, really appreciate the help.

Heya Jake, My pleasure man! Yea, sound as though you’ve either sanded a little too much resin off your repair before painting or; you’ve just got some pin holes in your resin coat that didn’t sand out before painting. Basically sanded either too much or too little 🤭 if it’s a case of pin holes in your resin, you’ll be able to tell because they’ll be perfect little circular holes. If it’s exposed weave then it’ll be a little more square looking. Either way, it should still be water tight!
