MGM used her up and threw her away. Godspeed for one of the greatest talents to ever live.

The word SUPERSTAR was coined for this lady, from such an early age she was so talented and so beautiful too (Such a shame that Hollywood and bad advice ravaged those looks) Thank heavens that there are still these recordings to remember her by......Even if the sound quality is not that good. R.I.P SUPERSTAR.

She made me love her 😻😂. What can I say? Words don't suffice. I can't find the language to describe the way she makes me feel. These days are gone forever ♾️, We can no longer produce a talent pure and sweet as Francis Gumm. Thank you Lord for creating her where and when you did. Thank you these things still exist on film! She will live in my heart! I, too, am a vocalist in the same genre as my dear girl. Therefore I appreciate her gift on a level otherwise unattainable. Thank you Lord.

At one time, I dreamt that I was singing this song for my favorite actor (Danny Kaye). And out of nowhere, young Judy Garland was passing by. She saw me singing and delighted that I knew the song, she joined me for the last part.

Every now and then the Lord blesses us with a special person. He was a nice 👍 man in life. The tragedy of loosing his dear beloved wife to an accident must have crushed him. I'm glad we have his films to remember his great personage.

Why didn't they do this to Streisand? Those two are the most iconic Singer Actresses in 📽️ history! Their duet on Garland's show was awesome! They would have both appeared together again if Garland had lived! Two awesome talents!

Lyrics: Dear Mr. Gable, I am writing this to you, and I hope that you will read it so you'll know, my heart beats like a hammer, and I stutter & I stammer every time I see you at a picture show. I guess I'm just another fan of yours, & I thought I'd write & tell you so... You made me love you, I didn't wanna do it. I didn't wanna do it. You made me love you, and all the time you knew it, I guess you always knew it. You made me happy, sometimes you made me glad. But there were times, sir, you made me feel so sad. You made me sigh, 'cause I didn't wanna tell you, I didn't wanna tell you, I think you're grand, that's true, yes I do, 'deed I do, you know I do. I must tell you what I'm feeling, the very mention of your name, sends my heart a reeling, you know you made me love you!

(2) ..Aw gee, Mr. Gable, I don't wanna bother you! Guess you got a lotta girls that tell you the same thing. And if you don't wanna read this, you don't have to. But I just had to tell you about the time I saw you in 'It happened one night'. That's the first time I ever saw you, and I knew right then you were the nicest fella in the movies. I guess it was 'cause you acted so.. well so natural like, not like a real actor, but just like any fella you'd meet at a school or a party. Then one time I saw you in a picture with Joan Crawford. I had to cry a little. 'Cause you loved her so much & you couldn't have her. Well not until the end of the picture, anyway. And then one time I saw you in person. You were making a personal appearance at the theater and I was standing there when you got out of your car, & you almost knocked me down. ..oh but it wasn't your fault. I was in the way. . But you looked at me, and you smiled. Yeah you smiled right at me and you meant it. And I cried all the way home, just 'cause you smiled at me for being in your way, oh I'll never forget it, Mr. Gable. Honest Injun. You're my favorite actor. I don't care what happens, let the whole world stop, As far as I'm concerned, you'll always be the top. 'cause.. you know, You made me love you. 💕 🕊️🕊️RIP dear Judy Garland & MrGable🕊️🕊️

Yet another musical in-joke. The song is from 'Broadway Melody of 1938', starring Eleanor Powell. When Ellie came to MGM, Clark Gable had made a serious play for her, giving her a Packard Roadster for her birthday, but no sale. Now Roger Edens, Ellie's pal, has written a song about Judy carrying a torch for Gable... but as untouchable jailbait. Apart from the silly echo that has been imposed on the soundtrack, I find the neurotic undertone of this rendition, while not depressing in itself, an ominous foretaste of how Garland's idolators would admire her for all the wrong reasons. Give me 'Everybody Sing' from the same film, in which a spirited Judy works a waiting room full of troupers the way she would enthuse live audiences as a dumpy middle-aged lady. She went down fighting, not fading.
