Dallas and Alecia have two of the finest voices in music today...This song shows just how enormous and melodic Alecia's voice actually is...And look how far away from the mic she is and how crazy good it sounds...Not many singers can do that...This became my favourite vocal performance of theirs the first time I heard it.

Thank you for the comment about how far Alecia is from the mic... it made me look at other collaborations with her and realize she almost ALWAYS stands far off the mic when it's not her own equipment. Guessing all that power overwhelms most mics... I'm really glad she stands off instead of toning it down!

Even though in many ways this is simple music, and at the same time enhanced by nice microphones and such, we're witnessing a revival of a certain brand of music and musical performance. Though I don't have the fullest knowledge of musical acts, I can't really think of anything like this that I've seen since maybe something like Johnny Cash and June Carter. You could definitely say the civil wars, but I feel like you get more of a down to earth vibe from You+Me. Very lovely to see these two talented singers work together in a manner not centered around the best finished product via a studio, but rather something more old-fashioned and raw, simple yet moving and stripped down to a level dependent on singing ability, chemistry, and coordination.
