Thanks a lot! It occurred to me today that as a very monogamous person with zero poly role models, I have literally NO IDEA how polyamorous people think or feel because I cannot in any way relate. And as someone you tries my best to understand different perspectives and people without bias I immediately started searching for stories. Literally do not care what adults do but I find it highly questionable to bring kids into these situations. Noone will ever convince me that it is better to bring up a child in one of these situations than a regular mom/dad pairing. Before you come at me with "but mom/dad could be abusive or toxic etc." And the chance of this is even higher in quads, 1 man/2 wives, 1 man/8 wives etc. I don't know about you but I had a good idea of what a family/marriage was at 6, as I had models of those things all around me including my parents, 2 sets of grandparents etc. Of course it's harder to explain to a child why you have 2 strangers living with you as your partners.

"It takes a village to raise a child" is the old saying. There's a reason for it. In some cultures, it's actually improper to not help parents raise a child. As a Latina, I can definitely vouch for this cultural lifestyle. Polyamory can also be an orientation. As someone who is poly oriented, I can vouch for that too. Conclusion: in a way, to go against polyamorous people or polyamorous lifestyles is both against the LGBTQ+ community and is racist. It is certainly possible to raise children this way. To say otherwise is to be against the LGBTQ+ community and makes a person racist. You are essentially saying that if you have been naturally polyamorous your whole life and you can't help it, you're not allowed to have children. You're also saying that other cultural races are doing it wrong and aren't raising their children properly. But I find it quite odd how you almost never see representation for poly couples with more than one male, or just couples of all the same sex lol. Not to mention it’s rarely ever a group of 4 or more unless it’s polygamy. Even some polyamorous ppl have expressed displeasure at having “one too many”. With that being said, I wonder just how freeing and convenient this kind of relationship is, and how long this kind of relationship can actually last, unless marriage or children are a factor. From what I’ve heard polyamorous relationships can still involve a primary partner. So it’s almost like they have one person like monogamy but then each partner is free to fall in love with another person as well. I think it’s a different concept of love. Notice a trend with all these relationships? The men get multiple partners and use them as sexual devices. It's funny how the types who support this are so against polygamy because those relationships are "oppressive" yet, when they slap a different name on it (polyamory), it somehow becomes acceptable? Also, polyamorous relationships are "judged" because they are wrong on many levels. The two -couple example even shared that they all get jealous. How great is that; a relationship dynamic that brings out jealousy instead of fostering trust! Sounds like a winner to me! I feel like I can understand it more than monogamy. But then it’s more complicated than monogamy as you need to have a better understanding and openness of your emotions like jealousy and attachment as you would be confronted with it more in a polyamorous relationship. @@abigailb9144 not enough studies, but I’ve heard of some that have lasted 5 years and are still going and my favorite polyamorous triad to follow is Jimmy, Chacha, and Summer who have been together for at least 9 years and commitment-ceremony married for almost two years now. I’ve heard of both ending and lasting ones. Same as monogamy, some relationships last and some don’t. The longest one I’ve heard of is 35 years and still going, but I’m sure there’s longer.

As someone who is poly oriented, I can actually state that there IS love and it's NOT lust. That's a fallacy. There are actually polyamorous people who are asexual and just want romantic relationships WITHOUT sex. I, myself, am actually demisexual and refuse sex with anyone unless we are in a romantic relationship. I refuse romantic relationships unless we've been friends for at least a year. I refuse friendships unless I can find something I can trust about a person. I have two boyfriends. One I've known since highschool and we reconnected about a year ago and we've just started dating. My other boyfriend, I've known for over 7 years and we started dating about a year ago. This means I have no sexual attraction to anyone other than these two men and even then, since my newer boyfriend and I just started dating, we haven't had sex yet. Our relationships are stronger than just "sex and fun." Lust is for cheaters or people who just like partying and have sexual attraction to many people, but I don't have any of that. I don't feel attraction to people unless I've gotten to know them. I won't have sex unless I'm dating the person, which is only after I've gotten to know them for a long time. And I'm far from a party girl, I'm actually very introverted. You're just spreading more hateful and ignorant stigmas, so stop.

Polygamy has been around for thousands of years, but it was outlawed in 1898. I don't understand why it was outlawed when polyamory has been around since the dawn of modern civilization. What works for one person will not work for someone else, and I'm okay with that. Who are we to judge them? My thing is: If you can handle it long-term with no issues, then go ahead. But when cheating and homewrecking ensues, it's time to reconsider polygamy/polyamory (and possibly leave the lifestyle because you can't handle it).
