I’m 62 years old now and have carried a SAK since my first one I got on my 12th birthday. It was a Huntsman as I recall, but I’ve been carrying a Fieldmaster since I graduated high school in the early eighties. It has saved my ass more times than a toilet seat. Paired with a CRKT Getaway Driver, I have a pretty effective tool kit in my pocket.

Minnesota schools were different back then. Nobody batted an eye at pocket knives, or later on at gun racks in the back of students pickups. Unfortunately we lost our way since then.

The SAK looks like it's more ergonomic in your pocket. Like carrying a smooth pebble. It's also small, I like that. It also looks like it would last longer. However, having a liner lock on a way nice blade, the bit holder, those are innovations that can't be ignored.

When I was 12 I got a victorinox climber, It has all the tools I need for 30 euros, and more than that rocktool like a corkscrew, toothpick, tweezers and a small knife that I keep razor sharp. I still have that first knife and it is totally worn out because when I was young money was scarce to buy a new one. I am 55 now, I still have that model "climber", but already several newer ones. About the hardness, I need to sharpen it maybe 2 or 3 times a year on a strop and I use it daily. Of course, just like you I have knives lying around everywhere that are more task specific like your kitchen knives, garden, workbench and what more knives and a whole lot of knives for hiking and camping that are bigger, stronger and fancyer. But just daily I carry that climber on me. I have never missed that pocket clip and would remove it straight away. That bit holder would be something great, but then you would also need a bitset and that is where Wera does a great service to me :-). Thanks for yet another clip, I really like the way you test and present these things.

I always carry a swiss army knife as a backup, but I usually end up using it more in public than a locking bigger folder. They come really handy and non knife people (99.9% of people) don't freak out with them

I've daily carried a SAK Mini Champ for 10+ years and use it most days. However, I bought this Rocktol multitool about 6 months ago and carry it daily. It's great! The scissors are the best and the screwdriver bit is very good.

I am more of a Leatherman guy than SAK, I do have a Rangergrip 78, but it is not an EDC tool for me. I do like a lot of the features on this tool. if I had one, it would be a part of one of my tool kits, either in a pack, or in my power chair tool kit. I prefer the straight line driver, and the ability to swap bits out. one thing that could expand the usefulness of the driver would be to have a bit extender. I have several double row rubber bit holders that have an extender in the centerline between the two rows of bits. also supergluing a very small neodymium magnet in the driver would make it a little less deep so it would fit the standard one sided bits better, and make it hold the bits in better.

I've been carrying SAKs for 50+ years. I used a Swiss Champ for over 40 years as an Industrial Maintenance man in a huge factory and it saved me literally hundreds of long trips back to my tool box for the "perfect tool" for the job at hand. I have to say that your evaluation of this knife is pretty spot on and it's a great value for the price. Since I'm now retired and use the SAK more for bushcrafting (as a hobby), I would add just a few things to what you said about this multitool. I think that the awl should be narrower. All of the SAK designs would be superior, in my view, and even the ones that have no hole in them can have one easily added to them with a Dremel burr, making them good for stitching, whereas grinding down this awl seems problematic. I think the bit driver could have had a magnet added to its design and it would be better for holding even simple bits. I do think that it's commendable that this knife can hold double ended bits. That is a very welcome feature. The final, and only real shortcoming, to me, would be the absence of a wood saw. It is a tool that just can't be bettered in bushcrafting. I bought one of these on the strength of your review. I will probably attempt to narrow the awl. I plan to drill a small hole in the side of the bit holder and epoxying a small rare earth magnet into it to hold cheap bits that don't have the ball catch built into them. I'm also working out a way, in my head, to use a saber mount jigsaw blade in the bit holder. So thanks for providing me with a project to keep me busy for awhile. Well done video and thanks for creating and sharing the content.

I don't know if I am too late for you. There are Klein double ended bits with a ball tention like the bit that comes with the Rocktol. The Wally Wave (aka OzarkTrail Multiforce) comes with a ball retention bit externder. Of cource the end is NON magnetic so either glue a tiny magnet or use the Klein bits I mentioned. FYI there is a Swiss Tech that I got from Aliexpress that is like this Rocktol that comes with a wood saw. It is also much like this Rocktol, and again it too has the double end bits with the ball retention. It is the Swiss Tech 11 in 1, just in case you were courious.

Thanks Aaron for a good video again!!! I agree, that the multi-tool you have presented has some advantages in a compact format. But you have to see, taking into account that your channel is seen worldwide, in my case from Costa Rica, there are many countries that do not allow knives with lockable blades in their laws. Also in the USA there are some states or cities with this restriction, which is why SAKs are a good or the only alternative with a good quality. As for the tool with bit exchange, none of the SAKs have it in the standard format available, not so much because it is a good function, but more to avoid losing the bit at some point and being left without the corresponding tool. For example the Cyber Tool Line of Victorniox has this function with smaller bits. As for the clip, the SAKs don't contribute much or anything. But there are cheaper solutions than the one you mentioned, where you can use a suspension clip that costs around 4 Dollars. I myself have several options depending on the tasks to be done. I am not a collector, so I choose my tools carefully, because they must all fulfill their function well. I own and use some SAKs. Greetings... Horacio from Costa Rica

Best Philips driver is on the SAK Explorer. But agree, in the USA normally don't carry my SAK since having a Leatherman. But if you travel to Europe or Canada or Internationally the SAK is the way to go (to avoid legal issues )

There is no doubt the Explorer is a good option! However I have many SAK including the Explorer . I did a mod ,in fact I mod all my SAK apart from that swiss champ. To give a very good 2d Phillips a small flathead and an improved can opener, so I don't use the explorer much ,but i even did the mod on the Explorer. I have several videos about the mod , should you care to look at your leisure? Victorinox explorer, huntsman, farmer, climber, screwdriver can opener mod. Victorinox Spartan All Blue. Victorinox Angler Black plus scales and modification.

I carry an Alox SAK every day, usually a Pioneer or Farmer X dropped in my pocket. A decent bit heavier duty than the normal cellidor handled ones. I have been carrying a Leatherman Rebar on my belt recently too. Both aren't known for their awesome blade steels but they've always held up just fine for my edc which is generally more than the office box type edc. I don't run a homestead either but am outdoors and also use my tools at work in the shop time to time. Medium use I would say. Most days I don't even pull out my locking folder anymore. I love how easy the multitool stainless steels sharpen up too and maybe that's why I like using them more because I can sharpen them easier and faster. I'll have to check this one out, looks kinda like what leatherman did with their free k series but with a leg from the wave with rebar esque tooling.

I used to carry a SAK Super Tinker for years. I switched to the Leatherman Juice S2 because I liked the idea of small pliers in my pocket and it seemed easier to carry. But I gave that up for the Leatherman Free T4. I liked that all the implements lock, has a small file (for my nails), and I missed the tweezers from the SAK. I don’t ever see carrying a SAK again unless I’m abroad. This Rocktol is nice and it’s affordable. But it’s missing a few implements that I like to have in my pocket.

You’ll go back to the Swiss Army knife if you ever try to use the scissors, the new Chinese made tools that look like half of a plier tool have such soft metal that the second time you go to use the scissors they will bind, have burrs, and don’t close again. P.S. the bit driver is using a 2 in 1 ball detente bit which is almost as hard to replace as the leatherman bits and if you try using normal 1/4 bits they will just fall out. In my opinion these Chinese companies are innovating but they need to up their quality, I don’t want something that a KZbinr will tell me is great because it’s a quarter the price of the best manufacturer (victorinox, leatherman etc.), I want something WELL MADE at a REASONABLE price. I’ve seen way too many of these KZbin videos bragging about how cheap these tools are without thinking about any long term use, just my opinion.

@@tm2bow653 Since I work at a hardware store I have used almost every multitool there has been, I use them daily and at least a dozen times a day. I don’t remember half the names of all the stuff I’ve tried but here goes: The roxon multitool (the one with a variety of tools and a corkscrew) had the scissors develop serious wear and burrs after about four times cutting zip ties, the flat head driver started to twist slightly after removing bolts from garden hose faucets to remove washers after two tries, the Philips head slightly twisted after attaching the bit adapter and a nut driver to assemble brooms for sale. Onto the Roxon knife scissors tool, the scissors wouldn’t close after cutting zip ties again once, the knife got dull after three times of cutting carpet by the foot for a customer. Next up the Gerber suspension, the awl developed a dull point (like the nose of a paper airplane when it hits a wall) after punching holes in Bristol board paper for a sign promoting a paint sale, the scissors slipped right over and wouldn’t cut fishing line for hanging a banner. And now the Leatherman wingman, tried to cut through the white flexible hose that we cut by the foot for dryer vents and scissors slipped and jammed on the 1/2 the width of a paper clip wire that is in the liner of the hose. Now Bibury, the 31 in 1 model I think; has the jig saw blade adapter. Tried cutting a bag open to test a sharkbyte fitting and jammed the scissors, later tried cutting a zip tie with these huge Leatherman surge like scissors and no go as the burr from one try was so bad the scissors wouldn’t even fold back into the handle of the tool. I could go on and on but my point holds since I have used a Leatherman surge and scissors on it have cut zip ties most of a year with no issues (but the tools weight was bothering me with all the other stuff I carry) so I switched to the wave and the scissors on ONE of them have cut over a hundred zip ties and are still going strong, the bit driver with the easy access to sixty bits has helped dozens of customers with a variety of bolts in every shape and size; yes they can be butter soft bits but it lets me know exactly which one we need every time. In my job I need to help solve problems for people right away not five minutes later when I get the toolbox, the customer wants help now and I know I can trust either the wave or the surge. Am I disappointed that the price keeps going up, absolutely, but I don’t lose my tools that often and when I recommend a tool to a customer who notices how handy a Leatherman is I mention buy it once and just keep an eye on it so it doesn’t walk off rather than the it’s ok to lend it out cheaper Chinese stuff that has repeatedly failed ME and from what I recall has so many problems with soft steel that all the KZbinrs out there keep defending it with the “but you can buy 4 of them for the price of one Leatherman bs”. Sorry to rant but if you use multitools hourly then you know why cheap is NOT good. Lastly, I think it’s pretty nice to support American workers; but every once in a while I get very frustrated with Leatherman not seeming to pay attention to to the new reality out there.

I have a collection of these tools and use one at work quite often. The ones with the bit drivers can be easily modded to take standard 1/4 inch bits by just putting a small thin button magnet in the driver. The scissors in the ones I have used work great, and I have had zero issues with them. All of the ones I have have one thing in common....they are a much better tool than the Gerber Armbar which I am sure influenced them in some way. My Armbar is a good small pocket knife, but the scissors spring pops out sometimes when I use them and the bit driver does not lock, at all. Not even a strong slip joint detent. Half the time when I used it, it would close up on my hand. Why is that so difficult for a major player in the multitool game, but no name and off brand name tools have locking or semi locking tools?? The Armbar is also about twice the price of most of these cheaper tools. I am a PC tech and these tools work great for me.

The problems with most SAKs and most multitools are complexity and weight. Simple and light is more likely to be carried, hence my SAK Bantam with just a simple small blade, and the small multi purpose "blade" that opens bottles, does slotted screws and Phillips head screws, opens tins (slowly) and strips wire.

You just had to show me this, didn't you. I have a Leatherman Free K4. The blade is great, but the tools are hard to deploy and aren't great. Also, it doesn't include a can opener, which is one of those tools that is a butt saver when you're off camping and realise you need it. Twenty bucks is a no-brainer, so I just ordered one.

I carry a SAK but I want the corkscrew. I use it to carry a small eyeglass screwdriver and a small bit of cotton ball. I always use the tweezers and toothpicks. I use an add on clip to make it stand up in my pocket. I love Victorinox!!! The corkscrew is good for opening coconuts to get the milk out as well as knots.

Aaron, it is a sin to criticise Victorinox Swiss Army knives. I've gifted 14 of them within the last year. Many of those were the little Classics with wonderful scales that were very meaningful to the recipients. It brought them joy to receive them. The colorful, new silicone cases for the Classics are a home run. ... Back in the 70s, my brother gave me a red SAK Huntsman when I relocated to Interior Alaska. I had a career working for Alaska State Forestry in Fairbanks. The Huntsman was always snugly in a nylon pouch on my belt when fighting wildfire in the boreal forest wilderness, or cruising timber on snowshoes. ... The warehouse got all of us Leatherman tools. I carried one on a project fire for seve3al weeks and never used it. Back in Bearflanks, I returned it to warehouse and returned to my trusty Huntsman. ... A next door neighbor boy graduates from High School on 6 JUN 24. He's getting an SAK Huntsman with A-10 Warthog scales and his name and date engraved on the blade by DLT Trading. He can carry it in the SAK nylon belt pouch that will fit his knife. ... Finally, SAKs are made in Switzerland, not in Communist China. You haven't sold me on a cheap knife made in a nation that harvests the organs of its own people and attacks the free world with biological weapons of mass destruction.

Agreed. The Victorinox Huntsman has proven to be an excellent companion and daily worker for me for years. The Vic saw is one of the best size/function tools available that can fit comfortably in your pocket for use at home in the yard, or on the trail and campground to process tinder and camp setup. These days, with my degrading sight, I have switched to the Explorer as my EDC, and have been grateful for the aid of the magnifier, as well as the straight Phillips driver. There are very good reasons that SAKs have been so prolific and so desired over the last several decades: because they are excellently manufactured, consistently reliable in meeting most daily tasks of common citizens, smartly packaged in an aesthetically pleasing form, and reasonably priced, to name a few. The Chinese multitool reviewed in this video has its place, but that place will never be in my pocket.

The inline Philips they have is fantastic; but it always comes paired with either the most useless light (e.g. huntsman lite, which is about as bright as a geriatric firefly, provided the battery isn’t flat because it was accidentally left on) or the magnifying glasses. As long as they don’t fine something worthwhile to put across the Philips, there’s no point.

After +40 yrs I’m already on my second SAK, and I use it multiple times a day, the small screwdriver tip on the can opener will easily handle any #2 Phillips that is within the scope of a multi-tool, the blade is fantastic for anything short of butchering large animals, it’s easy to sharpen and a few strokes on a strop and it’s ready to go. For pliers a 4”-5” Knipex Cobra - way more effective than any multi-tool plier ever? As for a pocket clip, get in your tackle box and get a #4 or #5 Sampo swivel and pair it up with a “pocket suspension” clip and Bob’s yer Uncle! But twenty bucks for the Chinesium tool seems to be quit a deal, I’ll have to give one a try.

Your short vid is most appreciated. Might is the watch word in your title. IDK. I carry a SAK Explorer and has bailed me out hundreds of times so theres’ that “bond”. The #2 Phillips, that’s ultra fast to deploy and secure, I’ve used the mag. Glass to look at tiny print on resistors for work. Pretty much all their implements without disappointment. It’s less beefier than the RT. So, I would carry a rebar and get more tools at this weight and goes unnoticed in my pocket even without the clip. Rebars on e-bay are very reasonable. I do have to say, I have some older SAK's and newer ones. I do like both and the newer ones have large locking blades. Although, I still carry a 1995 Leatherman Original Super Tool and that design is rather ingenious. Not only do the blades have a stronger lock than the liner lock, the configuration of the blade when deployed is perfect. It is like an actual folding knife (unlike the Wave's uncomfortable configuration).

Great video! Have you seen the Roxon KS2 Elite? Very impressive. All the tools lock. One handed deployment. D2 blade steel. 4116 saw and scissors. Scissors are incredible. Phillips with file. Bit kit with adapter that fits on Phillips. Super sharp awl. Bottle opener, can opener, small flat head. Glass breaker. Tweezers. At 3.4" and the same weight as the Rocktol, I love it. $38 so twice as expensive, but better steel, better scissors and a saw.

I've got a couple of these awhile ago. I've put them to more abuse than I would dare with my Swiss Army Knife. They have been holding up pretty good so far. BTW, if you are looking for a SAK that has the straight position for your philips and flathead and isn't to thick, I like the Explorer. That is my Swiss Army of choice. That being said, I like this little 19 buck tool. Everything you pointed about it is on point. I like to keep the flathead part of the bit out to score open packing tape to open boxes. It helps conserve the edge of knife and since that is the only part that doesn't lock, it takes less effort to close. And for those who are about point out that it's not made in the U.S.... Neither are swiss army knives. This pocket knife looks to have value however, for outdoors or just about anything else, try the SAK Champ. I have a leather holder that fits on my belt. It only takes a couple of times in semi rugged environments and that clip holder falls off. Again, check out the Champ. More expensive however, far more value.

I wholeheartedly agree that the Swiss knife fails because it does not have locking blade. I have two of them and rarely carry them for this reason. I disagree that Leatherman tools do not have blades that deploy with one hand though. I usually carry a Leatherman Wave and both the serrated and normal knife blade are deployable with one hand. I have several leathermans and this is not possible with all, but the Wave does it just fine. That said I am interested in this tool and thank you for introducing it to me.

Thanks for this, Aaron. I have a lot of SAKs, but I have added Ultra Tac deep carry pocket clips to all of them. They clip on to the ring on any SAK and it then hangs down in the pocket. It's made a HUGE difference for me. They aren't on the side of the tool like a regular knife pocket clip, but they get the job done and a pair of them is like $7.

You can even buy Chinese clones of these deep carry pocket clips for about 50 cents a piece if that is something you are looking for. I have put them on all my SAKs and they work just fine

SAK Phillip screw driver actually saves you in sweaty hand or in rain where if you Have a little muti tool, the grip style hold of your phillip and not fear dropping it and loosing it matters a lot. Tinker survived many ages for a reason. I had an inline screw driver, and in rain trying to open the body lock of my door, it fell and rolled in and lost it!

Interesting tool, I might have to check it out. I love my Leathermans and SAKs. I carry the Hiker around town and the Tinker (I think that's similar to the Hiker, but with a saw) in the country. I use a $2-3 suspension clip on the key ring. The clip is a game changer. I didn't carry my SAK often before I got the pocket clip. I also replaced the tooth pick with a ferro rod, and I have a very strong pin that I sharpened stored in the hole behind the screwdriver. It's excellent for digging out splinters. I also usually carry a locking folder self defense knife on the other hip. I use the SAK awl and blade for regular cutting to save the edge on my self defense knife. The awl works great on plastic clam packs. IMO, an awl can be too large though. The one on this tool seems a bit large to sew a field repair on most things. I'm not sure why they put a flat head on a tool w a bit driver. Maybe they couldn't think of another tool that would fit in the space? A decent file would be usefully. The tiny Phillips seems pretty handy though. I VERY much wish that the Phillips head screwdriver was not located where it's at on the SAK though. If you keep it clean the mirror polish on the SAK can serve as an adequate mirror in a pinch. It's good enough to check your teeth for specs of food after a meal, or your nose for you know what. As others have pointed out, the SAK is very socially acceptable. Even in Texas, where knives are not regulated, that is sometimes a factor.

Since this video came out, it appears the Rocktool is sold out, but Mossy Oak offers a smaller, cheaper version of the Rocktool for 15 bucks. Bought it. Very pleased.

I Carry a SAK everywhere everyday. Usually use the tinker deluxe with plus scales in the pocket and a small Swiss army with Philips driver in my EDC wallet. I find this a good combo and never seem to need a larger knife. Also guaranteed for life from a company that has been around for 125 years that is Swiss made. Nevertheless, I think there is definitely a market for these newer multipurpose and customizable tools. I think that victorinox should take not of these companies as should leatherman. Roxon has some amazing designs as well now. Good review!

Sak rangergeip has something like a 4 inch locking blade it's a great multitool but heavy and bulky but it's built well, it's my go to camping multitool, but my edc Sak is a huntsman that lives in my wallet/edc gear pouch in my front pocket it's smaller and lighter and disappears on me which I like about it. Not the greatest knife not the greatest multitool but good enough to do small daily tasks if I need it. I just wish those full size multitools like my Leatherman didn't weigh a quarter pound or I'd carry them every day! Weight matters, especially with backpacking. This tool you show looks like a great option at a great price!

I get it, I'm a knifeaholic also, always looking for the perfect multitool but never finding one to replace my Victorinox Tinker Deluxe. Dangle clip lets it ride high. Previously got a Nextool versions similar to this, the Roktol looks much nicer, but I've really gotten used to all the implements on the Tinker. My history: 1. Before the Leatherman came out, I argued with Ron Hood about what feature was desirable on an SAK. He wanted a wood saw. I wanted scissors because people would be trimming nails and cutting things. So, what was available was the Huntsman. I have a pile of restored Huntsmen. An excellent knife to provide or trade within a survival group. 2. The features of the product you demonstrated make up for what is lacking in a SAK. It is more than 10% better. The reasons I would not purchase include no longer hunting or camping and being retired.

I like having decent scissors, and got some cheap (but very useable) folding scissors to carry along with a knife (with a beefier blade than a SAK). I generally don't need/want the other tools (I'd rather carry real tools if needed) but I will definitely consider the Rocktol. Thanks for the review.

Hi there, Herewith my penny's worth: 1. I have a Leatherman with a locking blade and I have found NO extra benefit from it locking, so I couldn't care a flying philangy about that "benefit". Scratch it! 2. Phillips screwdriver. Only some have the driver in that position. EVERY SAK I have has it on the end! Scratch that one. 3. Pocket clip. Truly an abomination of the first order! Those things dig into the hand so much it's not worth it. I use the lanyard and it hangs inside my trouser pocket at exactly the right height that is very easy to take out. So scratch that one too. It seem the wannabees are inventing new gimmicks, and you guys are falling for it every time. Also the individual tools (like the scissors and awl/reamer) are just SOOOO superior to anything else out there! I'll stick to my SAK thanks. Prospective buyers just need to do a little homework about what their ACTUAL needs are and I guarantee there is an SAK that will suit. For example, a key question is "Do I REALLY need a full size pliers?" If the answer IS yes, then you might consider a Leatherman or a Victorinox Swiss Tool. If not, I wouldn't even consider it. Also, the Leatherman pliers has the potential to pinch your hand quite badly if you're not ultra-careful. I've done it many times! Victorinox design philosophy is so good and reliable that they have been around longer than anyone else, and are bigger than anyone else. But, you tried hard and fought a good fight, and lost. Fully agree with pretty much all of that. I own a Leatherman Wave but rarely carry it, I find the bulk/ weight inconvenient. My solution is to EDC a Fieldmaster. Since I have actual tools available at home, work, and in my vehicle, the Wave's extra goodies go unmissed. Going back country I keep a set of pliers, a diamond stone, and a hatchet in my pack.. between the SAK and those tools I haven't found a backcountry problem that cant be solved.

Mostly I carry one of two SAKs. I had to buy both "new old stock" as they were discontinued. Usually I carry a Manager + the pocket knife of the day. It has a ridiculous amount of functionality in a small size. Philips, pen, scissors - it's just silly how good it is. Otherwise I carry my Explorer Plus. It has an inline Philips, large scissors, pen and a ton more tools. That Rocktol looks great. Smaller than my Explorer Plus but a more focused toolset. I carried a Tinker for 20 years. The slipjoint and T-handle Phillips weren't problems, but I could see how they could be.

Roxon KS2 Elite in D2 steel is my current Swiss Army Knife replacement (though to be fair I still carry my mini champ as a keychain, lol). The KS2 Elite cost me around 30 bucks, and the difference between the regular and the elite is the D2 blade steel, tools are supposed to be made of 12c27, and the scissors are very impressive (though a bit big for my fingernails, etc, hence the mini champ).

I'm definitely biased and carry one SAK or another in my pocket from waking to bed-time. All my SAK's, one of which is just like the yellow one you showed, have locking blades. There's plenty of models with locking blades if that's needed. I agree the Sak's 3D philips is limited by the center-point mounting however, which is why I opt to use the 2D philips on the can opener 90% of the time and now prefer SAK models with the corkscrew as it is useful on it's own and holds other tools like a fire-starter & tinder or a mini-screwdriver. Also, while the Rocktol looks like a nice option, it doesn't have as many tools and I often use the SAK's tweezers and toothpick. The pocket clip is a nice add although, since my edc flishlight is already on the same pocket, I actually prefer to let my edc knives sit at the bottom of the pocket with a small paracord lanyard attached for easier extraction. The one-handed opening has some (not all) of my edc SAK's beat.

For edc, I will stick with my SAK. imo it balances size/weight/functionality better than any multi-tool. That being said, what you shared is a great tool, and when you consider price, it seems amazing. Just too bulky for my personal taste.

The Victorinox T style Phillips tool is my least favorite tool. It never works well. As you said, hard to get to some screws and folds up when trying to remove other screws. I prefer corkscrew and use it often to tighten leather laces on my leather projects. The tip of the awl can remove some Phillips screws. I like a 2-layer swak because it is light weight and smooth in my pocket. That other tool, like most other multi tools, looks much heavier. The only extra tool that I’d like to have on a 2-layer is a saw. Enjoy your videos.

These half leatherman style knives are super tempting and I did buy one a few months back, the version I bought was black and most of the tools are/were decent. The scissor are a totally different story though, even the internal, pain in the butt to grab leatherman scissors cut better than these. The surges' scissors are much better as are the micra, free series and obviously the great SAK scissors. The scissors will not cut 550 cord, granted the internal leatherman scissors have difficulty too. For the price its a decent tool, but I will keep on using my modded Free P2 and deluxe tinker.

Looks impressive, especially for the price. The only negative is that it's slightly larger in size than the Evogrip S18 that I use. But the screwdriver is indeed definitely awkward to use on the SAK.

Really interesting multitool, similar to Gerber Armbar Drive, but screwdriver seems to be more secure. I would get it, if I wouldn't have my Gerber, as the most useful tools for me as EDC is a knife, scissors and a bit driver. Also I've noticed that they also sold under Daicamping brand.

Hmm, interesting take on this knife based multi-tool and one that i've been thinking about. I know i've been impressed with companies like Bibury and Rocktool for making cost effective multi-tools for those who do not need the precieved quality and therefor higher price of tools such as the leatherman tools. I carry a number of knives for tools depending on what I'm doing that day from Victorinox, Case, Buck, and a few others, currently carrying 2, a Victorinox Pioneer X and a Victorinox Executive for the nail file. I ended up removing the keyring and grinding/filing off the keyring connector because I liked the Wenger/Victorinox "Soldat" that doesn't have the keyring and finding that it got in the way of use more commonly then not on the Pioneer/Pioneer X model. Still been debating on the Bibury plier multitool because of just how little I might actually use it but I think I'll order one of these and try it out. Thank you!

I always preferred Wenger SAKs. The EvoGrips are kind of the evolution of those but not quite. My old Wenger has a locking blade, a Phillips head driver that is in alignment with the handle not at 90 degrees. And you can just put a $2 suspension clip on it which is what i usually do. The Wenger knives also had better scissors but i think they kept those for the Evo grip knives. The Gerber Armbar is also a nice one that is similar to the one you are showing. I got mine several years ago for around $30.

G'day Aaron, very good points there mate. Must say I've always wondered why on earth you'd persevere with screwdriver tools ....... when you have a bit driver. Sure there's the prying of the paint tin lid, dunno about you, but I'm not carrying those around away from the home garage ; ) Ultimately, drop the scissors for a good saw, and have a magnetic bit holder, for only 20 USD to give it a crack, I'd buy one. If you could get a Ranger with only a locking blade, saw and awl, (and of course the mandatory tweezers and toothpick), ........ I'd buy that too ; ) Cheers Duke.
