My father passed away over 10 years ago.He had open heart in 80s and recovered. He fell setting mole traps too.Broke ribs turned into month hospital stay to a speciality hospital to rehab. He was non responsive for weeks. We thought he wasn’t gonna make it.He was so weak he couldn’t zip his pants.Within 6 weeks he did stairs at rehab. He lived to 92.A good rehab can really help.He mowed the day before he died.He never stopped.

Farm dogs are special! My son is a milk truck driver. He goes farm to farm to picking up milk. He says “I love my job because I know every dog and cat on the route and they know me too”.. My husband and I are 4th generation farmers.… had several dogs that grew old and curled up under the maple tree and passed away. Always grateful for God taking them peacefully in their sleep. Hope to die under a tree under God’s beautiful sky… hugs from WV

My grandmother is in her nineties and still lives on her farm. She had seven children and since my grandfather died each child took a day to stay with her. When they were not available the grandkids would step in. Most live nearby and I think she appreciates knowing that she can have her peace and independence with help minutes away. It has always been an open door policy at grandmas.

My dil asked me to go to their house and get their precious Klyde. He as born with a cleft lip and they were going to put him down cause they were afraid he’d never eat. She took him home and bottle fed him. He lived 10 years. Then fell ill. She asked me to take him to her vet and she’d meet me there after work. The vet said his end was near. She made the decision to let the vet put him down. While he was gone to get the shot, she was holding Klyde talking to him. We were both crying when he took a deep breath and was gone. All before the vet came back. He had a loving family and is still missed.

My mother passed away in my arms she was 98 I knew she went so peaceful I knew she was with the Lord. What really upset me was the little dog I rescued for my mother he wasn’t very old the little dog suddenly went into violent seizures and I found myself doing CPR on my little doggie snout to mouth while rushing to my local veterinarian the doggie passed away I was so upset and cried. I felt guilty for being more upset in doggie passing than my own mother recent passing. I felt guilty for being more emotional over our doggies death than my mother!

Let me tell you something, I'm a 6-foot 250 lb man and I haven't cried in 40 years since I got out of the military. I was in law enforcement for years and seen a lot of s***. If I get a gash or cut, I get needle and thread and sew my own self up. I only go to the doctor if I can't stop the bleeding or I can't reach to sew it. I've got my Meniscus completely torn out wearing a brace trying to run this 40 Acre Farm by myself. I'm waiting to get a whole new knee this fall so they can attach it to something. I had to put down my Bluetick beagle on my birthday in April. I cried like a baby with colic

I had to make that decision. His name was, is Danny. Danny boy was the best boy. Never will I ever replace him either. I knew he was special already, but the day we picked him up, decided to take him for a walk before taking him home. Every person who passed us asked us, "Did you adopt Danny?"Everytime we answered, each person would cry and say they were happy tears because he was so loved by these volunteers. I understand your pain, Patera. Having to make the decision was after 4 separate vet consultations. This was harder then my divorce. The puppy we had gotten the last 2 years before his passing is 11 now & still cries & does that long, deep, sorrowful howl in her sleep like the day i had to make the decision...... it's been 9 years and we can't even say his name in her presence because she will go lay down and cry. She is the sweetest girl. Whoever said "diamonds are a girl's best friend"..never had a dog! I could care less about diamonds, but I LOVE DOGS! ❤

72 years old and still working like a 20 year old. I have a small garden, 21 colonies of bees I work with year round, cut the grass in the beeyard, weedeat and cut the grass at home. Not counting what I do in the house-- cleaning cooking for myself and 2 of my sons. They help when the can but they also work. We all keep on moving and enjoying life especially when I teach them what I know . Remember, spend time with one another every chance you get. Be surprise what you will pass on.

Losses of animals, even those that are expected due to age or sickness, are still painful. By tradition round here, when someone's livestock goes to market, we still tell them we are sorry for their loss. It is hard seeing lambs or calves you have handled, cared for, perhaps even brought to life after a birthing that was not quite perfect, go. The loss of a much loved companion animal is even harder to cope with, but the joy they have brought us for years eventually rises in memory to ease it. God bless you Nanna Peggy. Get to go the muscle strengthening physio. Patara and the rest of your family want you back with them soon. What a great family you guys are! Happy Independence Day to all in the US. (Think of us in the UK then if you can, it's our election day and, whatever hapens, I truly think we will still be in a mess😓. We need your prayers please.)

Bless you young lady for offering to care for your Nana🙌 I had my mom with me most of my life and she went to be with Jesus 2 yrs ago this past June 14th. She was 101 yrs old. Although it was rough at times, I was honored to take care of her when she started failing in health the last few yrs of her life. She was a tough cookie and still up dancing on her 100 BD🙌🙌🙌♥️♥️♥️

I have a snowshoe cat who isn't long for this world. She is 17 years old and is in her last days. Her brother is in much better condition. They were abandoned and we took them in about 12 years ago. It's always a hard thing when this happens.

My dear Patara, condolences for your loss of Cochise and prayers for your Nana from your friend in Northwest Alabama. May God's richest blessings be upon you and your loved ones. I'm an old soldier. My line of Patriots stretches unbroken from me all the way back to the revolutionary war. I love my country, but am deeply concerned for it. If I can ever help you in any way, I'm in like Flynn! You always have a friend here. Shalom and Shalom.

We’ve had to make that horrible decision three times in the last 6 months. We rescue dogs, cats and horses and 2 of our dogs,14 and 17,and one of our cats,18 yrs old had to be put to sleep. It’s so heart wrenching and my heart aches with yours,Patara💜
