In Seattle, WA there is TONS of people that are Chinese and Japanese that you could level up on since you're very comfortable with those two. But if I can give some pointers without being annoying, I would say don't use ร - most Thai people use ล instead so instead of เรียน it would sound like เลียน or just don't use it at all จริง = จิง same with ครับ it becomes - คับ If you want to say really? In Thai its จิงหรอ พูดภาษาอะไรบ้าง - you can speak what languages? or นอกจากภาษาไทยแล้ว พูดภาษาอะไรบ้าง - Apart from Thai, you can speak what languages? Try not to use ผม and คุณ most Thai's will use น้อง and พี่ or names. And no one uses goodnight haha, they usually use bye byee บ้ายบาย or เจอกัน - meet again. I just thought if you wanted your Thai to sound more natural this would help. :)

I'm black and all my life my life I have been attracted mostly to Asian women. I've been criticized by my family for not wanting to be with a black woman but they just don't do it for me. I mean physically, yes, I am attracted to black women and all races of women for that matter. But it's a lot deeper with Asian women. My dream is to marry an Asian woman. But to keep it real, where I live, it seems Asian people don't like African Americans and/or are scared of them. Anytime I've tried to engage Asian people in conversation, men or women, they seem to want me to leave them alone even though I am very nice and respectful and show interest in their culture. Have you ever experienced this? I wonder what I can do to break that barrier. Maybe if I learned some Asian language it might help?
@AyaneSensei8 жыл бұрын
This is a bit of the reverse; but I am a black female who is with an Asian (viet) male and has been for almost 5yrs now...hopefully my advice can help you a bit. You will likely have more luck with Asian-Americans than you will with FOBs; when it comes to dating. Lots of Asian people have pressure from their parents to date people like them; not just other Asians but the same nationality even, so some don't even like Chinese with Koreans, for example. This can be to a language barrier, a fear of not understanding (cultural differences), fear of losing face/ridicule from others, fear their daughter will date you and you (as an Westerner) don't intend to marry them, or a fear that their children will lose their culture/leave them (like put them in a home or never visit them in their home country kinda stuff). Luckily for me, my boyfriends parents have been in the United States for over 20 years and live in a diverse area, so even though they are often around other Asians; they interact with all people. They also know English; with a thick accent but English no less. My bf has MANY siblings and only a 3 of them are even with Asians, and only one of the 3, with another Vietnamese. The rest are white; so I'm the only black one. lol So, they don't have any expectations at this point to have Vietnamese in laws. So, I would say, if you are with a more Americanized family; you will have more luck finding/being with a girl who will be willing to get to know you better, in the hopes of building a relationship. It can be hard, even if you are polite, to break the stereotypes lodged in peoples heads; and you know...that can take time! I generally don't have too hard of a time here in the 'burbs when people see me in my floral/lace dress and open smile; so I benefit from looking fairly approachable, but being a guy will make things harder for you since people in general are more on guard towards men (regardless of race-generally), I feel. If you speak an Asian language (I focused on Mandarin) and are warm to people; I think they will give you a shot; but if you don't have the language to connect you with FOBs, you're gonna have a bad time. Speaking their language is enough, I feel to get people's trust, 'cause they will be in awe at you, if you look different from them; you will spark their curiosity and interest. Don't be discouraged if someone doesn't want to engage with you, that is life; Asian or not. Not everyone is a nice or friendly person. However, don't let a few bad interactions stop you from finding "the one". Ultimately, we all have our preferences; but don't focus so much on finding the "Asian girl for you" and just find "the woman for you". Don't let someone compatible pass you by! If I was hell bent on going for my "type" I'd still be searching for my pale Korean/Japanese/Chinese idol looking bf, lmfao. xD I didn't even realized Vietnamese people existed (exaggeration obviously) before my bf; I was so focused on east Asians lol, but I'm happy with how things turned out ;) Look for women who share similar interests to you in predominantly Asian neighborhoods/areas. That will get your foot in the door for good conversations and easy bonding. Good luck to you~ Sorry for rant; hope this was even remotely insightful or helpful to you or anyone LOL.
@eddyg84088 жыл бұрын
AyaneSensei Thank you sister, I really appreciate you for taking the time to give me such a positive and well thought out feedback. It's nice to hear from someone with a similar experience. I think you gave me some good advice there too. I think I should go after an Asian American woman rather than an immigrant. I just want her to have a strong connection with and expression of her Asian culture. That's mainly why I find myself attracted to Asian women. Not just the looks but the culture, style, personality and self expression. And by the way, it's not because of the stereo type of Asian women being submissive. Honestly I don't really want a submissive woman. I like strong, ambitious, motivated, confident, independent women. The problem is, I live in Miami and there isn't much of an Asian population here and the ones that are here are mostly immigrants. So it would be harder finding a first generation Asian American woman. Plus, just keeping it real, I'm from the hood and I know some of them can be intimidated by my appearance. But it is what it is. It's not a major issue for me. I'm just gonna keep doing me until the right one comes along.
