Sis I believe the cost is reasonable considering you have 3 bedrooms. In the west these days you can barely find a studio for your total budget cost. Well done, I would be living comfortably too sis. I'm that sis who would pack up all the things that bring me comfort as well.

This was so helpful. Wishing you all the best in your new life on the continent. Can you clarify what you were saying about your starter kit and that you brought some food with you from the states, is that right? If so, that would save me so much money if I did that as well because I have a good amount of non perishable food storage and wasn’t sure what to do with it when I make the move to the continent.

How is the weather like living in Ghana?

Thanks for sharing your budget experience! It sure does seem like something that I can do especially if you don’t have to pay rent. I’m curious about where do you store your rice in the hot weather? I am from the Caribbean and I remember storing rice in the heat would cause little bugs to grow in it we call (weable) so I always store my rice in the fridge and that keeps the bugs away. Please let me know your thoughts!!

I saw weevils in my rice for the first time yesterday!!!..yucky! I'm looking to buy a rice storage/dispenser..it has a place to put garlic to keep the uninvited guests away..but I also researched that bay leaves will also do the trick..for years I have put my flour, cornmeal, beans in the freezer for at least 3 days..this seems to help.. Ps...my leather and like leather shoes and bags take a beating in the humidity!..🙆🏾♀️ ❤️💋🇬🇭!

@@barbarasutton9683 I usually keep my Rice Flour and corn meal in my refrigerator and I am living in Boston. Food is too expensive for it to get all those bugs in it. So sorry to hear about your leather stuff. That I don’t know how to prevent from happening. Good luck with everything.

@@nanaasafu-adjaye4239 I might have spelled it wrong but these are little black bugs that grow in Rice, corn meal and flour when they are left out in hot humid weather for sometime.

Paying 1 year rent upfront for rent is ridiculous. Why is the Ghanaian government still allowing that nonsense. It should be 3 months rent upfront and no more. But 1-year? I would never pay it. Foreigners need to be mindful of their spending in Ghana, because all you are doing is making life much more difficult for the average Ghanaian by driving the cost of rent and the cost of goods and services up. At 17:07 2,000 Cedis a month for Internet? What type of internet? Fiber Optic broadband? And do you get unlimited data usage for that price? But 2,000 a month for Internet is madness. 1,000 Cedis a month on food is good though.
