Great vid Jamie and thanks for showing me such a good time. I’m not claiming to have particularly big ones, but I sure did like that trail!

I rode the Golfie on 28 September when it was dry and hot like that. I found Big Baw and Feed the Pony easier than the trails we rode on the other side (NY NY, Wolves, Flat White and Repeat Offender). I think it was because I'm used to technical riding but not the steepness of some of the other trails. Went back again on 8 September after/during heavy rain and struggled on everything we rode due to the lack of grip and just not having my head right. I'll still go back though, it's very addictive. Great to watch this video Jamie, it brings back memories! 😉

Totally understand that mate. Riding trails you are more comfortable with tends to bring the confidence and the better riding. I'm not such a fan of the steep trails but rock is what really scares me! I go to so many places out of the Tweed Valley and end up out my depth... Aberfoyle for example! Glad you enjoyed it and will be back though 🤙

What a place Jamie, me and @chunkyantmtb had an absolute blast, while being shown around by Erik one of the locals. NYNY - superb, Big Baw - epic, Feed the Pony - now that's some push up 😂😂 😱 but what a trail! Can't wait to return.

Fantastic vid. Who'd have though it'd be too hot in Scotland! Heading this way at Xmas and have to admit I'm pretty nervous as even the so called easier one NY NY looks pretty bl**** steep to me. From the vid Big Baw doesn't look much steeper just way more rocky and technical (maybe its the flattening effect again). Moot point really as I definitley want to test the nerves/skills/brakes on NY NY first. It'd be interesting to see what you think of the new Wardell Way trail at the Golfie - an appropriate tribute to a great mountain biker.
@streetpigeonmtb2 жыл бұрын
Indeed mate. It's a trail I need to get to. NY NY and Big Baw aren't very steep TBF. They are actually quite good on that front. You are right, Big Baw just has a lot more going on, especially with a lot more rock. Let me know when you are over this way. If I'm free I'd be happy to ride with you 👍

Nice, mate! In terms of steepness, how much more severe is it than Trail Fairy Plan? NYNY about on par? I'm thinking of heading up there, this week.
@streetpigeonmtb2 жыл бұрын
Personally it's a nicer trail to ride than Trailfairy. NYNY deffo easier than Trailfairy. Big Baw is more physical than Trailfairy. But basically, if you can handle Trailfairy I think you'd be fine 👍

I was scared watching it when you were dehydrated Jamie!! Good you stashed some water. Do you put electrolytes in it, as you're losing loads when it's hot!!
@streetpigeonmtb2 жыл бұрын
Hey Susie. I didn't have electrolytes which I know would have helped. School boy error! Although those temperatures in Scotland always catch you by surprise!
@susiehooper27982 жыл бұрын
@@streetpigeonmtb you certainly enjoy yourself on your rides-like a schoolboy!!😄I've found electrolytes make a major difference ..and food!!😁 I think I could relate to riding with concentration not being A OK, from my own times of knowing I needed to stop and refuel. Keep on enjoying yourself. I love seeing your videos of the Scottish trails!!

@@streetpigeonmtb Hi Jamie. I'm in Yorkshire. So my local is Gisburn forest. But I adore Scotland. Haven't been since 2019 and want to go in the summer. Been to Glentress and Innerleithen riding up rather than the uplift!

How much travel have you got on the bird, 160 or 180?
@streetpigeonmtb2 жыл бұрын
Hi man. 180 up front and 160mm rear. I feel like 160mm rear is more than enough on my local trails. Keen to try 180 though 👍

I rodeo rode Big Baws in late September for the first time and it was damp and greasy and I did struggle in the middle section….not my best riding 😢😢😢
