Mind you it was 100°f that day. so out loud, l said we're going swimming over that brothers house. He got real quite and never bragged about his pool again to me. No we did not go swimming.

My 11 year old daughter was assaulted in the kingdom hall a few weeks ago. The 60 year old sister she was forced to sit with grabbed her by the arm and dug her finger in hard an twisted it to make her pay attention. I called the police, they said they would give her a warning and next time she is getting arrested. She got hers though. Jesus warns against causing any of these little ones to stubble. My daughter say she recently suffered a serious knee injury since grabbing her and can't walk now. I guess she never heard of Annanias and Sapphira.

There are so many older (mostly sisters but I also met some brothers like that too) who love to get younger people in trouble. They are actively looking for who has messed up so they can run to the elders and the child's parents. To this day I am working on being comfortable around older people, I tend to immediately become tense even when the older person is genuinely nice.

I'm an older gentleman ex elder was talking to a sister and I was very interested in her. After 3 months she bought a white dress. A wedding dress? Oh hell no take it back. Then after some time she said she would cook soup for me. So she wanted to leave it on the porch at her sisters house or in her garage...wtf. I told her when your finished with your errands call me and I'll pick it up she never called two days later I call her she told me she ate the soup and I didn't call her. Then she started gaslighting me saying I never keep my promises. I told her I never made her a promise and if l did tell me what it was. She yelled louder knowing l was not going to allow her to gaslighting me. Then she did a jw classic she hung up. Why do they behave worse than wordly women. I never had a worldly woman treat me like that. Most jw people are narcissistic and try to gaslight you. She lost her mind over a bowl of soup. I dodged a bullet.

Some , maybe most, JW’s wear Christianity as a badge making them feel superior. Others , my parents included , were always trying to help others. What is more , they didn’t turn their back on me when I was disfellowshipped. The reason being , “Jesus wouldn’t have” they said Thanks once again.

I’m reading the comments & wondering if half of them even listened to what you have said. So true, I have no interest in discussing my beliefs anymore, I’m traumatised by being forced to, but some people have to validate their own beliefs by insisting I believe the same as them (I & everyone they’re directing the comments to). Then there are others treat quoting scripture like typing it out is casting a magic spell & is somehow going to magically align my mind or whoever is reading’s mind with theirs. I think it’s because the Christian leaders tell their followers that the Bible’s words have power… It’s delusional at best & both result in pushing me away personally (& giving me a laugh too). Everyone is free to believe whatever they believe, if they truly believe it, why are they so insecure about it? Why do they need validation for those beliefs? I particularly love this channel because of the shared EXJW experience & you have such a great way of expressing exactly how I feel when sometimes I struggle to get my thoughts straight. In saying that is watching this channel validation seeking on my part? In a way, yes.🙃

And to give up my worldly friends as worldly people were no good etc I told the sister something as I was in a real fix. Another sister asked me to tea at her house and said don’t tell ANYONE your personal business. My naive self said ‘ but that’s what I was shown in the bible on my study and it stays just with your study person in case they can help you spiritually ‘….. The phrase “born again believer” tells me you are just a member of a different kind of cult. The fact that very few proudly self-professed Christians actually follow the teachings of Christ, most even elevating a monster like Trump to some kind of twisted deity status has put a stain on Christianity that will be with us for many years to come. Putting down JW doesn’t make you the better Christian. There are few “better Christians” these days, that religion having now become a national laughing stock.

Christianity is definitely the true religion. I have seen way to many supernatural things since being born again. The problem is it is really easy to fall away from. This idea of once saved always saved in a myth. The path of a Christian is very hard and very narrow and there are very few who find it. Most of these people out here representing Christianity are fallen. The same with organized religion. If they don't live there lives like they are directly applying the sermon on the mount it is safe to say they are not christ like.
@Griffinmc5 күн бұрын
I like your reference to the beatitudes of the Sermon on the Mount but the reason I don’t identify as a Christian is exemplified in the fact that no Christian denomination including - I suspect - your own has advocated for posting the beatitudes in public places like this movement to get the idiotic Ten Commandments posted. Christianity today in all of its forms is judgmental and political and I’m done with it. By the way “true religion” is a very freighted phrase. Hundreds of other religions make this same claim to the historic detriment of the world.
@rh33095 күн бұрын
@Griffinmc by true religion I mean explanation for existence. The 10 commandments are not idiotic and they are in perfect harmony with the beatitudes. I am praying this movement you are describing is successful. I will also support any movement to have the sermon on the mount posted publicly as well. What you choose is between you and your creator. I suspect you will feel much differently when you stand before the great white throne of judgement. None of us good. We have all hurt people and hurt ourselves. I wasn't always a believer, in fact I spent most of my life as an athiest/agnostic and I did what I willed. You aren't any better or worse than me, I just recognized my problem and sought out answers until I found the solution which for me was the Christian faith.

So the Devil wins... I understand the turn against God, when leaving the organisation, been there, done that. But that's the whole point of false teachers, so you are letting them win, becoming atheist, usually to be intellectually lazy and avoid the inner confusion, or it's just from anger or resentment at the deception you suffered. None of it is God's fault, it is actually him who is setting you free so you may seek him in spirit and truth. Take responsibility for your own faith. Drop the resentment and bitterness towards God. Don't let the Devil win so easily. Jesus is the truth, not a denomination.
