I am an mma fighter, and have felt relatively strong on the dojo and the bars. I did traditional strength training and fancy mobility. But I’ve always felt “weak”. It was a weird sensation outside the dojo in everyday normal to feeling almost brittle. Like my wrists and shoulders and hips were weak, so I thought at least I have the technique to cover that. But after dislocating my shoulder and nursing it back to health in the “traditional” way of rehab, I’ve felt even weaker, almost vulnerable, and a bit ashamed of naming myself a martial artist. Until I found your channel. I started with 1 lb clubs. The first time I flowed with these puppies, was a sense of relief in my wrists elbows and shoulders. It was tough going through the rigid stiffness of what grappling and injuries had done to my shoulders, but after months of practice, I moved to 5lbs. Flowing for hours on the 5 lbs had made me actually feel strong outside the dojo. I never knew I’d grow forearms and fatter fingers like my dad (he was a 3rd world construction worker turned master carpenter). Dad had that thick vascular arms. I thought Jiu Jitsu would get me to his level, but it did not. What Jiu Jitsu did though was given me muscular imbalance. Club bells corrected it. In fact, my movement is much more fluid in Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, Judo and the striking arts. I am now swinging single arm club 15lbs for 20+ reps with ease. I recently bought a 25lb (20lbs was out of stock) And with slow practice, I’m able to handle 25lbs for average of 5-8 reps. This has been the best equipment for increasing my confidence no only in the mats, but in everyday life. I’ve had many compliments from teammates and coworkers asking about my bicep and triceps routines. I laugh and tell them I just swing heavy baseball bats. They always give me a scoff and laugh thinking I’m trolling. Anyway long message short, For athletes of all kinds, i don’t care what your sport is, highly highly highly recommend club bells to your tool box. Thanks Mark for investing your time on mastering and teaching the Way of the clubs. This simple tool with the right training and consistency has made me feel like the martial artist I’ve always wanted to feel like, confident and self assuring. It’s almost as if the club bell strengthened my mind and body so that it caught up with my technique. Can’t wait to see my progress in months to come. Peace yall, Happy club training!❤

Hi Mr. Mark... Could you make a tutorial for kettlebell targeting Biceps and Triceps, if that's possible, please? (If you haven't already)

For the triceps the KB press is amazing (for the shoulder and upper back as well). But I'm not sure what KB exercise is particularly designated for the biceps... single-handed clubs exercise works better for biceps as far as I know

It's weird...I think double outside cleans feel really weird (with KBs not clubs). But double inside swings feel weird (with KBs)
@AwakenZen

That's because it's not suppose to be preform that way. Keep the swing between the legs not outside

@@AwakenZen With singles for sure. But with doubles (competition bells) suitcase swings are so much more comfortable for me. Feels more natural too. Like a 2-foot takeoff in volleyball.
@johnveroutsos
@johnveroutsos Ай бұрын
@mikeschertzer941 absolutely!! I totally agree with you. I had to learn outside swings, cleans and snatches because of my severe hip arthritis. For me, this feels much better than the inside swings and cleans. Maybe after my surgery, I'll re-attempt the inner cleans. Cheers from Montreal Canada!
