The products look great. But even better were the music and the birds! I'm always amazed by their resiliency. That Greater Yellow Legs at 3:42 was the picture of forbearance, braving the cold, wind and rain. So beautiful.

Wow, that wind looked wicked! I’m fairly new. I’m not sure if this makes sense, but if it’s too windy to hold the camera steady, I take off the lens cover. What are your thoughts on that? Love the channel! My only comment is to keep the photo specs on the screen a tad bit longer. I do use them as a learning tool. Thanks.

Lens hood stays on just to protect the lens. You have to set yourself up to hopefully not have the wind drag your shot away. Doesn't always work.

I'm using your great set-up for my R7. So helpful as I learn the new mirrorless. Is the Llano charger you're showing here the correct one for the R7 batteries? The specs say for Sony.
@WILDALASKA2 ай бұрын
There should be an option to select camera brand for the charger.

hi Scott, what about a camera bag that you find usefull, since it will have to carry long lenses?
@WILDALASKAАй бұрын
I have several, but my main backpack bag is an Fstop (Shimodos are great also) and my non hiking flight bag is a Tenba Cineluxe. I'll be making a video on Wildlife gear flight bags and one on how I carry gear in my Bronco in the field.

You give the distance, that is a great aid. Thanks for that. The review is good.

Beautiful, beautiful footage. It is especially meaningful as I’ve been stuck all weekend with Covid - so was my little bit of outdoors

Great images! Battery charger is very cool and on my list. Airshow in a couple weeks r7 and 100-500 should be fun. Take care and good health

I kove you are using the R7 , this is my new camera and can see what you can do with it .........I nice to see that you can use the lower end camera and do great photo , there is many video with the other higher end , I understand the quality etc, but for most of us this is great.

The camera does very well. We had some of the worst conditions to shoot in that day. No light, rain coming right into the lens, all kinds of craziness. Hope you are enjoying the new camera 😄

Hi Scott, i'm a fan from italy , i want to thank you for all of your great work you do on your youtube channel . I'm looking for some advice , i'm interested in wildlife photography specially "big" mammals like deer, roe deer, chamois etc , not very focused in small bird , only large like eagle and vulure. My current set-up is a bridge ( lumix fz300). i'm undecided if a r7 with rf 100-500 would suit my needs , i have watch and read a lot about this camera and there are a lot of different opinion expecially in low light performance and i can not take a decision , r5 is out of budget , do you think this combo will be the right choice? Or it will be best to wait untill early 2025 if a new r7ii comes out?
@WILDALASKA2 ай бұрын
No clue when Canon will release anything really. you may even look at an older EF 100-400 lens but the combo you listed would be ok for those needs

When you note the distance to subject, is this an estimate, or is this piece of information shown somewhere in the camera viewfinder or file EXIF data? (It's something I've always been curious about with my R7, but never been able to find.)
@WILDALASKA3 ай бұрын
It's in the EXIF. Choose settings in Lightroom for your EXIF data and add it there

Hopefully soon,. I actually had to send it into Nikon as I got a lot of volcanic sand in the buttons and locked up the Af-ON button. Just got it back 2 days ago. Great service from Nikon also.
