I have this for my T-LCM and play ACC. I loved driving the Porsches, but after update 1.8 they became undriveable to me. The back end will step out and I could never know when or why. I got the rumble kit, and gave the Porsches a try again. That’s when I realised from the feedback it was my throttle input. And it taught me to be more smooth on acceleration, or modulate the amount of throttle over long high speed corners. The sensation of knowing your rear is just about to step out, and you immediately respond by lifting the throttle a tiny bit and straighten the steering input slightly to catch the car. It’s awesome.

This is really funny! Because I'm building these rumble sets myself! And my first design was "wrong" in the same way as these!! :-) You have to mount/build these motor mounts the way that the actual motor is vertically situated, that way you will have more precise vibration in lower RPMs because you don't have to take into consideration the weight of offset ballast, if you mout motor horizontally (like in this video) the weight itself will put "force" against motor and it will be harder to start spinning. V3 pedals had their motors mounted properly and in the right direction! ;-)

I have the simagic p2000 pedals, 3 pedal set. dont use clutch so i ordered the 2 pedal kit 5 months ago. as i said, parts supply issues caused problems with lead times. got the kit and it had an extra motor included for some reason. only problem, it didnt include the wire to connect it to the control box. So i found an old laptop charger cord and the end worked to plug this 3rd motor into the box, with a bit of cutting and soldering, i now have this 3rd motor bolted to the bottom of my seat. :) To be 100% honest, this under seat motor just connects everything together. granted i havent had enough time to get settings all perfect, but i would have to recommend getting an extra motor or adding a seat motor kit with the pedal kit. 1000000000% worth the extra. Just takes the kit over the top !!!!

Just got into sim racing, found a good deal on a pair of Fanatec CSL Elite and what definitely misses the mark the most is the clutch because you can't feel the bite point at all which is really evident in a real car, I immediatly thought that a small vibration could provide a more realistic feedback in that aspect.

Simply disassemble an old massage mat, remove the vibration motors and screw them to the pedals. Good, cheap and works great. When I see what all that stuff for sim racing costs, it's cheeky. With a little imagination, you can achieve exactly the same result for a fraction of the cost.

I did the exact same thing back in 2011, cost me less than $50 and it worked really well. I used one of the sound activated massage mats, so I was able to run an audio splitter, ran that through an EQ to isolate the brake sounds, then the pedals would vibrate when the brakes locked up or there was tyre squeal etc. My build guide is probably floating around on the iRacing forums still. It worked well but I didn't like it, it felt like a gimmick and just didn't feel realistic at all. I later upgraded to a hydraulic brake pedal and removed the shakers and found this was a more realistic feeling pedal that made consistent braking easier.

They do produce a bit of noise. It's noticeable for sure, not as much with headphones, but to those close by or around you, you will for sure hear it. It didn't matter too much, regardless of strength; it's just the noise they make when spinning. I hope this helps.

Try one small 15-25watt transducer attached to the base of the pedals. It would do the same without the latency.
@TheOfficialOriginalChad
@TheOfficialOriginalChad Жыл бұрын
This is simply not true. Transducers depend on the deflection of the item they’re mounted to, they have to shake them, hence the term “bass shaker”. Most pedal base plates are the MOST SOLID part of the sim rig. Additionally, if the pedals aren’t shaking then the bass shaker is, which is TERRIBLE for it and creates awful resonance and clipping. The mass on the end of these rumble motors is 5x heavier than that in a 50W transducer and it’s DIRECTLY attached to the pedal, not the pedal base plate. This is significantly more effective. How do I know? Well I’ve spent around 40 hours trying different transducers from 15W to 100W, amps, pedal mounting plates, flexible transducer mounts, oscillation isolators, etc and NOTHING came close to cheap rumble motors mounted to the pedals directly.

Hands up everyone who has driven a race car where the pedals vibrate ? Yeah this is a pointless piece of hardware. If you think you can replicate the pedal feel of a lockup or wheel spin by using a small motor to vibrate the pedal i'm guessing you have never actually locked up the brakes in a real car. Brake pedal shudder etc can't be replicated with this type of device. If it makes your sim racing feel more immersive then maybe its a good thing, but by no means confuse immersion with realism, this may be one of the dumbest pieces of sim hardware I have seen so far.

Rumble motors are useless. Main SIM iRacing does not send correct data to set this to activate when let say wheels are spinning. And if you need this to know when abs is kicking in, then you need more practice.
