Aside from a slim 10,000 power bank to carry in my pocket while in theme parks, I'm converting all my portable battery needs to dewalt batteries I already have. This will be very useful when camping or on a plane as the 20v 5ah (100wh) is maximum battery you can carry on airlines, and these charge faster than any portable power brick when you find an outlet. Thanks!

that a great new tool. I just ordered it. been out of stock. I use PD at lot. even my HP 17in pc has PD cord. laptop uses 45watt. before that came out I made my own 65W PD USB C . using a b 20V battery socket to power leads and put 12-24V to PD 65watt adapter on it. working great. been using years . also that PD is in charging and can use 12V PD to charge in car truck or ATV even a tractor. will also take USB C from solar and charge with the sun. going to take mine hiking/camping. all fit in a back pack . and because of my work I have many 20 and 60V battery's

I bought one of these yesterday. $80. Then I looked on Temu and they have the 20v DeWalt to usb c and usb a slide on your battery piece for $12.00. No lights on top, surely not reversable, no cables, no 65w power brick, but just the basic converter. If all I want to do is use my DeWalt batteries to charge usb devices, makes this feel like a rip off. Yes? No?

Thank for the review. How would this do with a 5ah power stack? And would this be a good solution for backpacking? I recently got the mentioned PS and I wonder if this would be a better way to recharge my device(s) as opposed to a typical battery bank? Please and thanks!!

Power stack will do fine. Only issue is that the setup may be a little more bulky then your slim battery bank. But on the other hand you can probably charge it faster and it would be more durable.

If you have anyone of DeWalt tool kits then you don’t need the extra charger that comes with the adapter in this kits. It’s just better to buy one of the 2 kits and get a fast charger that comes standard with it. In fact, Lowe’s right now has 20 V max 2 tool kit includes the DCF 787 and DCD 778 with two PowerStack batteries and fast charger included for $299. You better getting a charger out of the kit like this when you are using the little pieces of shit that come with the adapter for the battery to use so you can charge your phone.

Hmmm, the wall brick has the same 65w output as my standard charger. So it will not charge my max batteries any faster than the traditional docking station charger? You're right they need to go back to the drawing board on that! Why can't these batteries be designed with a port to accomodate that wall adapter? you know, for folks who do not need the phone charge ports and only want to charge a battery?

Honestly this was a hard purchase to justify, I am definitely in no shortage of DeWalt battery chargers, I might even have more charges than batteries actually.. But the ability to turn all your batteries into *Solid* battery banks is incredible I've owned plenty of battery banks- But that's the issue it's past tense, I have owned them and they have always died or gotten to the point where they can't hold a reasonable charge Drill batteries don't last forever of course But in my experience they will last 50x longer than any battery bank. I'd go as far as to say even if you don't have a tool hoarding problem it would be worth investing in this, and some batteries for your portable power needs Great purchase.

Can you help me with the correct info about this DeWalt USB charging kit (DCB094). Is the power input 110v -220v ? or just 110-120v only ? I'm ordering this but our region has 220v . Surprisingly, there is absolutely no information available at all even on the DeWalt official website. I'm aware there are Q&A by some amazon customers saying it supports only 120v but I'm skeptic. usually these types of charger supports universal power input. Like any wall chargers. Thanks in advance,

I’d wonder if you had a cigarette lighter usb-c that was rated at 100w whether you could use the bidirectional usb-c port to add to the car battery enough to start it. I’d guess no. I have one of those jump start batteries. It has plug in jumper cables. I assume reason being you can’t put enough thru the cigarette lighter to make a difference. Also is energy going from car battery or from dewalt battery in the bidirectional usb-c port. Another thing about this device. Can’t leave it attached to a dewalt battery. It will slowly deplete it even though nothing connected to usb-c and usb-a ports. Haven’t measured it exactly but would guess if left attached for a week or so it would deplete a fully charged 3 amp hour dewalt battery down to one bar of power.

Well the problem is the 12V PDO is only outputting 12.0 or 12.1 volts at most. Your average 12V lead acid is charged well beyond that. 13.5/14 volts depending on the battery. So you’d want to use PPS if possible. Don’t use the 15V PDO it’s too high. Another catch, 12V is actually not a USB IF required voltage. So some PD chargers don’t even have the ability for you to select 12V with a trigger device. So you gotta find a trigger and charge with 12V and get maybe a 40% charge on the battery or you find a trigger that supports PPS and set the voltage to what you need. I think my FNB48 allows me to configure PPS but I’m not sure. I know I could do it with Quick Charge 3.0 since 3.0 is kind of a PPS when compared to QC 2.0 Overall just not a good option. The max you’ll get without PPS is 12V 3A and I think with PPS you might have the ability to use 5A charge rate. So it would need to be smaller than your average car battery that’s 50-70Ah it would take far too long. Now could it help you get a low battery up high enough to start your vehicle if you don’t have a jump starter…YES. Even using 12V 3A PD 3.0 you could probably boost a battery that’s just a bit too low in one or two hours. If the battery has been sitting for weeks or longer and the voltage is under 11 volts I think it’s probably not the most reasonable option unless you are stuck in the middle of nowhere. You’ll want to make sure that if this is your ONLY option then don’t try to start your car 5 times before resorting to a charge. If your engine doesn’t turn over then stop right there, take a voltage reading at the terminals and confirm you’re just a bit under the minimum voltage and dont waste any more power. If I kept a Dewalt battery on me for this purpose I would consider anything under 5Ah to be a waste. 9-12Ah would make me feel a lot better about having enough to put in my car battery after conversion losses

You can swap a dead battery with one that has a higher charge in seconds. Also, you can have different watt hour rate depending on need, my smaller battery is 30 and the largest is 180 watt hours so, if I need to power my phone for a short time then I will take the 30 watt hour or the 180 and power my phone for days, laptop for several hours.
