It sounds like the pf8 removed some of the weird resonance from the high frequencies. It also got rid of some of the room reverb which allowed for a clearer upfront vocal. Nice

It’s a great concept and I can imagine scenarios where it would really work but I found there was a much richer and more exciting sound without it personally

I think without pf8 vocals sounds exciting because of the room reverb that the mic is picking. But when we use compressors they will be compressing reverb along with the vocals making the nasty frequencies of the room more loud and prominent. Then when we master our track at louder levels vocals are hard to listen to. That's why I think dryer the vocals the better.

I thought the same, the vocals were more fuller without it, but yeah it’s going to pick up sharp frequencies, specially if you record with reverb. A middle ground would be perfect.

Just asking cos I've done up my recording space but I think I used too dense rockwool and now I hear subtle high pitch reverb, I'm thinking one of these will fix that, unless it's doing something else to the sound

@@orangemaniabrother2232 this pf8 just adds comb filter and mud. I bought pf8 because I saw it on local studio. How foolish am I. Now I won't even use this anymore. I get so much better result without it because my room is already treated with a lot of rockwool & a bit of acoustic foam.

This is a product aimed exclusively for amateurs. Mate, look at your room, you have absolutely no treatment.
