Hi Pete! I was more than stoked to see you're giving away one of your prints and immediately wanted to enter this contest. Next to my good friend / mentor in all things photography I count your content to my biggest inspirations. It's always informative, never boring and your approach of teaching is so refreshing. While I often struggle with the technical stuff, I usually get it when you explain it. Watching your videos has helped me tremendously on my way of becoming a better photographer. Thank you for that! With that being said... While I'd love to frame your picture and hang it on my wall above my desk, I came across this comment by Alex Milanese and even tho this is not a voting system, I still want to vote to send the picture to his/her students. Art moves us and makes us stop dead in our tracks all at the same time. We just have to look. If just one of these kids looks... Call me sappy, but at least my world would be a better place :)

We take every Sunday afternoon and run around our little home town in Ohio for 2-౩ hours and do competitive photography challenges ( judged by folks in our community). We don't have any fancy gear (just smartphone cameras 😁), but we have been inspired by your awesome content to really think of things and try to capture them in different ways. Boy would we be honored to fill an empty spot on the wall of our room with art from our most respected photography inspiration to remind us to shoot more intentionally. Shoot something to be proud of.

Hello Peter. I am a film student so I take a lot of appreciation in visuals. Recently I started doing the photography for the restaurant I work at and it is something I take a lot of pride in. Your videos are very motivating for me in the work that I do and I take every one of your videos as a lesson for my own career. I really appreciate the help you are willing to give others through your own knowledge. I would love to receive a print because I admire the shots you take and your dedication to capturing them. If I were to receive your print, I wouldn't hang it in my own home, I have something more special in mind. The girl I have been seeing the past few months is preparing to move into an apartment soon and I thought what would be a better house warming gift than decorating her place with one of your prints? It would be very meaningful because she is a very sweet person and shows a lot of appreciation for my work and gives me motivation in continuing it and putting myself out there. It would be a very special surprise to give her something from someone I admire and whom motivates the work that I do. Thank you, Blake.

My Epson 1400 printer is almost 9 yrs old now. I keep it healthy by printing a 5x7, trying to get it right, about once a week. Having the prints around gives me ideas and I learn things. Eventually I've hit upon sneaking them into library books when I return them. By that means they go out into the world somewhere, or into a circular file. The prints look great off the screen, where they belong. Great work Peter.

Thank you for inspiring me to print my photos. I recently got into photography and came across your channel a few weeks ago. I’ve been able to learn a lot from watching your videos. This one though will hold a special place in my heart. A couple of days ago my son was rushed to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery to repair a massive brain bleed. The doctors were not optimistic in their prognosis. They said he probably was not going to make it through surgery but he’s a tough cookie and best the odds. He’s a critical but stable condition and showing signs of improvement. Which brings me to the point on why this video holds so much meaning. The weekend before his emergency , I took him down to Everglades National Park. I took my camera a shot a bunch of landscape photos. But my favorite photo of that day is one of him standing and looking up at a map of the park. Although his back was facing me , I decided to take the picture because he looked so amazed at the size of the natural wonder. I recently converted a room into an office space for my work. Was deciding on what to put in it. Printing and putting my own photos crossed my mind but I thought that would be tacky. But in Lou of recent events , i will definitely be printing that photo of my son to put up in the wall in my office. Thank you! 🙏🏼

Home printing is the best because you can learn how the printer adds inks to the paper and why your image looks a bit different than on the screen. What's the difference between additive or subtractive inks? What matters on the screen won't matter on the print. Why Black and White prints need a special printer with gray inks? And most of all, you get your print right away. Instant gratification! Oh and don't forget you can run down to the local art framer and have it mounted. Some shops will let you do your own framing. You're friends will never believe that you created the whole thing yourself. I too miss the days of working in the darkroom. Many of the commands you see in photoshop come from techniques that were done in the lab. You had to some basic math and use timers. If you messed up, you had to start all over again. Mistakes cost you money. But if you got it right, the results were amazing. Your fellow photographers would always ask, how in the heck did you make that? One day in photography class I was able to fool my instructor. I created a photo of racecars going around a track just like you see in NASCAR. I told him it was all made with miniatures. Slot cars to be precise. The instructor didn't believe me so I went home and photographed the slot cars, track, toy people, etc. Well I got an A+ out of that class. My days learning high school photography, helped me become an expert long before the digital camera came to be. Lessons that will be lost forever in the new digital world.

I had a darkroom back in the 1970s. I set it up in a hallway in the apartment that I rented. As you say, it was as much fun developing and printing photos as it was taking them. I had a Beseler enlarger, a real beast that was described as the Brooklyn Bridge of enlargers. I just searched for a picture of it and the description said "vintage enlarger." For the first time, I realize that I am really old. My wife loves coffee. A few weeks ago I took a photo of her empty coffee cup with a milk pitcher. Obviously words don't describe it, I would need 993 more words to do it justice. We loved the photo. Unbeknownst to her, I had it printed and made a nice wooden frame. I hung it over her Brivelle coffee machine on Valentines Day. Boy did that get me some points. Thanks for another good video!

I bought a midway level printer with 6 cartridges, and did with trial and error. Not 100%, but pretty damn close I'd say. There are lots of print-test pages on the net for free that you can print.

Well. Even with very cheap inkjet printer I've been able to trial-and-error the right settings (in confusing epson software) to get pleasant colors.

Here's some love from India. I don't know if you are willing to ship to India even if you like this comment. But then, a boy's got to try. That print looks AMAZING and I would love to have it. Since my flatmate left recently and when he left he took all the photos that were hanging in the apartment, I don't have to think twice for the space to hang this one. It will get the most prime location at my home. I am a Computer Scientist who is a hobby photographer who also runs a non-profit which teaches photography and conducts different photography events (mostly photowalks). Recently I have found myself more interested in videos, and of course your channel played a big role in the same. :) I love photography and recently I shifted to Instagram since FB pages seemed like going nowhere without sponsored content. I post one photo everyday on my Instagram account, and some of your videos motivated me to keep going. I am not mentioning my account here as I don't want to come out as that annoying person who hunts for likes. :D Keep up the good work, Peter. Love this channel.

Excellent video!! I agree! I print a lot for clients but almost never for myself. I would hang that beautiful print on the wall at the foot of my bed. Every morning I wake up I would see it and it would remind me of the peace and accomplishment I feel when I reach the top. Never focus on the valley, focus on the peak!! Thanks for an awesome channel man!

Hello Peter, I would really appreciate the Print because I have been doing photography for about 2 years now and I am yet to have printed any of my work. This has lead to a blank canvas on my wall. I think it would be really awesome to have some work on my wall of someone that I really aspire to be like; as this would be really inspirational for my future work. Thanks for reading, James

Hey Pete... totally new to this field and have been subscribed and following you since beginning my research. You are extremely knowledgeable as well as motivating in the subject. I love your perspective and approach to topics and your willingness to relate to your beginnings. I enjoy your artistic eye and sense of style with your imagery! I wish I had been subscribed and following sooner as I would've loved the opportunity to have a chance to hang a piece of your work in my home. My fiance and I are beginning our cinema-graphic journey and we'll be following you along the way the entire time!! Thank you again for your time and effort in producing these videos.. again they are very informative and extremely useful! Keep up the amazing work and god bless!

New to your channel and I enjoy you very much. I am looking to get back into photography. I love printing, so if it were up to me I'd say bring back acetate film and darkrooms. I think a person has a different and deeper understanding about the art of photography and light when you do your own printing, especially darkroom work, and especially in black & white. I love digital also, and both have there drawbacks and benefits, however, printing your work takes you to another place, whether it's from a computer printer, or in a darkroom. (More so the the latter). Like expanding your consciousness. A true photographer has to understand their own work and in order to do that you have to print it. I'm not saying everything, but you gotta do some printing.

Hey guys I just started to think about photography seriously for past few months and I think in this there could be something incredible in future. Im 18 years old and I don´t have that much money for an expensive camera. I was thinking about buying this summer Canon EOS 600D (Rebel t3i) or Canon 1300D. I´ve watched a lot of youtube videos and I´ve seen that these are great cameras for beginners that want to progress in future. I would be very happy if anyone has any advice about this. (sorry if my english is bad) btw Peter your videos might change my life thanks man keep them up.

Marko Sladić when I was halfway through my college course I asked my lecturer this and he said to hold out and try and get a hold of a 700D due to the fold out screen which comes in handy when trying to take some weird angled shots

What a coincidence! I recently made a video about printing your photos too! It's called "The Art of Printing Pics", and your feedback would be welcomed! I made this video because I really believe that printing a picture is a part of the process of photography. Nowadays we take way more pictures than before because we don't have a limitation, which makes you totally forget them. Printing pictures is kind of giving a new birth to it. Anyway, love your video Pete!
