It wasn't until I was in my mid-late 20s that I realised that all of my crushes on girls were just that, not just friendships. They were the same as the crushes I had on boys. It finally clicked when I was very disappointed and hurt when a bisexual female friend told me she didn't date people my age (I was 10 years younger than her) and I realised I fancied her as a partner. Once again, you've given a thoughtful and engaging review of something I now can't wait to read!

My favourite yuri/GL short is Ebisu-san to Hotei-san/Ebisu-san and Hotei-san. She lowkey bullies her in the beginning tho. Calling her "Shrimp-mayo" hahaha.

My first crush was in second grade and 40+ years later I still remember it fondly. I knew then I was out of step with the norm but wasn't quite sure what that meant. Once it clicked everything fell into place. Thank you once again for sharing your journey with us through books and manga.

I haven't been watching the bookish side that much recently, but I just had to comment because I love Yuri and this sounds right up my alley. I've always found Yuri to be cute and, at times, hard-hitting. I haven't read any manga in a while, so I might check it out sometime. I've been reading A Little Life recently, and if I remember correctly you have it on your TBR list. I wonder what you'd think of it. It's been helping me deal with life, honestly, despite its heavy subject manner. It was even relatable at times.

I love this manga!!!! It made me so happy and now I want to buy it and read it over and over and over. The art really is beautiful. At the time I read this I got the impression that Machi was an aroace lesbian, and Hana was the exception. That might be why I sort of related to her. I've know I'm bisexual since I was 15, but I didn't realize I was aromantic till I was 28 or 29, and now at 30 I have come to the realization that I'm also demisexual. 😊 Anyway I will definitely check out your list of yuri manga. 💚

That’s an interesting read, and you might well be right! I’ve been slowly coming around to the fact that I also might be demisexual so maybe that’s why I related to it so strongly!
