I can't put my finger on why, but for some reason your content seemed to have a bit of a dip some months ago. But with the return of regular uploads, and the weekly sinbad trains, you are definitely back. You feel more authentic, keep it up:)

You can see a lot of progression until eventually you reach a plateau and the progress is no longer noticible and with that you no longer have those periodic rewards and starts to feel pointless but to find a way to spice things up and intorduce some form of change, or a new tool that can bring a sence of hope - im not getting new noticeble results but the process is diferent so "theres hope - im hype about that" i think novelty is motivation - gives hype. To do something diferent, to listen to new music, to change the enviourment or the image of the background of your phone... can be a big thing or a smaller thing but for me that element, i belive that, it gives motivation because it makes me feel hype and makes me feel hype because increases my vitality and increases my vitality because its a expansion of my prewious understanding/set up/ knowledge - its new. To discover something new or to bring something new to you, is to expand your "territory" and that is another form of progression in a way...

Wow, your video title totally hooked me-I had to save it and watch it as soon as I could! I've seen your other videos, and this one stands out for its genuine and personal touch. It’s refreshing to see content without the fancy cinematics and editing-just your honest thoughts being shared. It made me focus on what you were saying, rather than being distracted by cool transitions. I'm rooting for your success and hope to see you at the Guthrie Theater!

On the point you make at 15:00 I’d highly highly recommend reading history books. The fact that they can convey, scale, data and detail a film cannot helps truly immerse yourself in the grit, horror and the lack of so many basic things we take for granted in the past. Read enough history you will consciously be thankful of hot water, plumbing, food, your bed, air conditioning, refrigerators, the miracle that is a grocery store etc… A great place to start is a book called Infeno by Max Hastings. The magnum opus of WW2 literature.

Fresh new perspectives Captain, I find the idea of romanticizing the process to be important since the level of repetition in order to reach the goals we desire can sometimes be a long and laborious path. A sense of engagement and accomplishment needs to be found in the everyday and I think the ideas that you presented here help with seeing those.

Definitely don't mind the more simplistic style. The B-roll is cool, but I think sometimes just sharing your life is nearly as good as reading some book like Atomic Habits and talking about the principles put forward in the book.

I couldn't agree more. I think one of the problems in the self development space is all the people that make hustle porn and tell people that the only way to succeed is to work 16 hours a day. When in reality you make the most progress just by being consistent and doing a few key steps every day. For example if you simply write 1000 words a day for three months you will have written a full length novel in that time. About 90 minutes of deep work a day will get you to almost any goal in a short amount of time.
