You have seen more travel trailers than 99% of people who watch these videos. I think the rant was due and you handled it well. Nice video! I like how you turn the camera around in some areas so we can see you as a 6’2” individual and how you fit in the space… it’s a good balance! Keep up the great work. (Go enjoy your tennis match ha ha ha)

Flagstaff and Rockwood are at the top of our list when we downsize BUT I would like to see a few changes. Carry the solid service counter tops into the bathroom, get away from the pleather furniture. IT WILL PEEL and it's costly to recover or replace. Also the east west beds are fantastic but put more thought into the TV placement, maybe split the wardrobe and leave a space in the middle for at least a 40". I have to have tv to sleep..lol. Also love it when they put a hot/cold shower on the rear end of the unit, very thoughtful if you camp.

We had A Flagstaff EPro 19FBS. As a couple starting out, it was a great beginner trailer. As for quality, we had no complaints! Our family has grown and we out grew our EPro. After looking around and watching some of your videos, we settled on the Microlite 25SRK. We are on our maiden voyage with it now and absolutely love it! We are blown away by all the quality features that come with it. Slide toppers and power jacks seem to be options and not standard features though.

On paper, "tankless" water heaters sound like a good idea, however in reality, you will end up using more water in the long run. As one who has been rv-ing for over 25 years, the best option is a propane/electric tank water heater. As you said, you can use gas, electric or both!

Love the rant! I agree with your argument. It has some better components than the bigger boys do. Love the kitchen layout and colors. Love the screen door closes on it's own. Love the solid wood cabinets and decent storage. I know you were happy to see those dual opening fridge doors. You've convinced me on the Flagstaff. Just wonder about price. Thank you for taking the time to show this one!

Definitely worth the rant, I have a rockwood mini lite 2509s and it is the BEST trailer I have owned, and is WELL used. You are 100% correct on rockwood having so many other lines under their umbrella, many of which are not to the caliber of rockwood/flagstaff. Plus, people need to remember, towing these things puts them thru a major earthquake each trip…things will need attention. Good video!

We had a 2017 Flagstaff Micro Lite and on the first long trip (43 days) all the 12 Volt went out, one item at a time until we had no 12 volt at all. The undermount sink fell out, the shelves in the pantry fell down (with items like cereal on them), the drawers came loose, the strap for the sewer drain broke and several other things that I can't remember right now. Took it to the FROG Rally and they fixed what my husband hadn't already fixed ... turns out a wire had gotten pinched under the frame so thankfully the fuses blew like they were supposed to saving us from a fire. We just got a 2024 Cherokee Gray Wolf 22RRBL and I'm praying it does us right. We now reinforce all drawers and shelves in our campers with extra screws.

Also, I have a Forest River 290VB and I'm not thrilled with it but it was a rushed/forced decision Now, it was advertised as "managers special" Little did I know that meant the manager used it as an office for the whole year Here are things we noticed wrong The one I walked through was NOT the one they sold me (It was delivered because I didn't have a truck to haul it) The back bunk room didnt have a ladder to get to the bunks and we didn't see a safe way to get to them We were never going to use the bunks though so that wasnt an issue for us It's described as a mini toy hauler and has a side door in the back We werent going to use it for that either but I wondered how could someone get a mini bike up in there without a ramp? Refrigerator (which STILL hasnt been fixed) doesn't open properly They claimed they would fix it when they came out to install the blind for the front window They then told me that I needed to haul it back to the dealership to see if it was under warrenty (mind you, I had just bought this) If it was under warranty, they would make an appointment for me to bring it in again to fix it They made a HUGE deal about it being solar and me being fairly new to RVs and definitely new to solar on one had no clue that having the panels was great but they are pretty much useless without battery storage (5th wheel didnt come with that) Lastly (which I thought was hillarious) my bathroom sink doesnt have a stopper Now, the RV we were in before also didn't have one and I thought that was just standard on all of them Then a neighbor was walking through it when I first got it and asked where the stopper was When I found out it was supposed to have one, I contacted the dealer to see about one, they told me it didnt come with one So people, even if you are on the verge to becoming homeless, do your due diligence and watch EVERY one of his videos, ask questions ESPECIALLY to RV veterans and people who live in them full time before buying And make sure the RV you walk through is the same one you leave the lot with lol

Flagstaff/Rockwoods are definitely good trailers. Over the last 40 years my wife and and I have owned 5 travel trailers and 2 5th wheels. They were all from different manufacturers, bought new from dealers and our last was a 2019 Rockwood Mini Lite. Every single one of these trailers (including the Rockwood) spent a majority of the 1st year back at the dealer for repairs under the warranty. These repairs ranged from appliances to light fixtures to gas line breaks. They are all built by humans on an assembly line with defects. They all are rolling earthquakes. They will all have problems. Look for the builder with the best warranty. You do get what you pay for.

I have a Rockwood 2023 minilite 2511. I have had my share of problems like all trailers. First the bad: Refrigerator thermo coupler (1 hour repair), two water leaks at sink and where water fill is, (1 hour repair each), roof leak at the fan (5 hour repair), electric stabilizers are buggy (spent 3 hours on them), and several regular maintenance items…Now the good: But overall it is a solid rig..all aluminum framing, Azdel walls and ceiling, large grey and water tanks, great layout, once the bugs were worked out it’s solid and everything just works.. exterior fiberglass still looks great (keep it covered) , solar is a great option for dry camping… Conclusion: It is a well built camper but you will have bugs to fix! ( like every camper) Too many different product manufacturers for all of the systems put n the trailer.

I’m telling you, mini lite and micro lite have the nicest fit and finish of any campers have seen, and I shopped for campers 4 months straight before I got a stick and tin, Jayco 263 rbs. I really like it, and it’s nice but mini lite, and brother micro lite are built better. I recently saw a Rockwood factory rep interviewed and it seems they said they recently upgraded to all Pex plumbing, which should finally fix the mix of Pex and flex on the same fittings, which rv techs say will all leak. I’m planning to get a smaller camper, and eyes are in the 2205S, this model is too big, like my Jayco. I should not have any towing issues with Tundra but am struggling a bit doing it comfortably, thanks.

I understand what you’re saying about different brands under an umbrella company. Grand Design is going through a hard time right now because of the flex frame on their Momentum’s. In-my-opinion, their other brands, Transcend, Imagine, Reflection and Solitude are still great products. But also, Grand Design is under an even bigger umbrella of Winnebago. You really have to look at the name brands specifically.

First. Much love for you, brother! I enjoy your videos. Here’s where my heartburn is. When you mention the fact that there are no screws sticking out, isn’t that the problem with the RV industry? Just the fact that you have to mention that is the single reason why I don’t own one. I would love to, but not while the RV manufacturers could care less about me while they laugh all the way to the bank with my hard earned money. Is that fair?
@mylesrv22 сағат бұрын
It’s fair for sure. But, I feel slightly differently about it than you do. I think if you don’t feel that strongly to RV travel, that’s great reason to just not get into it. As for me, I deeply want to do more RV travel, and I won’t let imperfections in production practices stop me from making memories with family in a way that I want to. I am simply doing more research, and I’ll buy the best product for me that I can afford. It’s impossible to own things like this without them having things that will inevitably need to be fixed. It’s the same thing with my home, car, motorcycles, inflatable paddle board, and bike. All those things have taken thousands of dollars and many hours to fix things on. I just have level expectations, laugh when things go wrong as best I can, and still have fun and live.
@j.andrewwrinkle217221 сағат бұрын
@ That’s fair and why I respect your channel. My hope is the RV industry does take their quality control issues more seriously so folks like myself will feel more confident in jumping in. I’m hopeful. Appreciate you.

I heard Rockwood stuck with the dual gas/electric because they’ve proven themselves over years and years. If you think Forest River is trash, I can feel your pain! I think Forest River has there heart in the right place! Sadly, they depend on far too many components from Lippert. Lippert was acquired by a private equity firm that only reports to its shareholders. It only cares about profit! That is not the fault of Forest River. Forest River joined ties with Lippert before the acquisition. I do not care what camper you buy it is going to contain substandard components from Lippert. I heard that part of Scamp's marketing was that their campers contained no Lippert components. Feel free to check me on everything! I can tell you, for sure, that Lippert will not support Forest River, their dealers, or consumers on any of their components.

@CD-lx6sc4 ай бұрын
@mylesrv I've been a toyota mechanic all my life, recently switched to rv Technician and rvs are built so crap that I'm actually going to leave the industry in defiance of how garbage the engineering is. The worst vehicles on the planet are built infinitly better than the best large scale production RV's in my opinion. They're all the same, welds that break after 2 road trips, tongues that bend or warp ater a summer of use. Showers that leak, skylights that leak, awnings that don't close or open evenly, exposed wiring underneath, wire splices that are just scotch locked. Tankless on demand water heater that never lasts and produces barely one shower worth of hot water before turning ice cold as it struggles to keep up. Then there's snapping leaf springs, failed auto leveling Jack's, wiring inside walls that gets pinched during assembly because it's not routed correctly. I've seen these issues with enough frequency for it to be quite concerning! I'm not saying they are all bad, I'm sure there's alot of units out there that are better than others but my point is don't compare it to the automotive world. The laws surrounding automotive design, engineering, assembly and repair are insanely stringent and high quality is a minimum expectation not a perk for sales pitches (although it is sometimes used that way). I don't usually comment on issues like this but my ears perked up when you started comparing RV'S to Toyotas. They're aren't even in the same universe. I have a 2004 corolla with 230000 miles on it roughly, I'm the 3rd owner, the most significant thing that's needed to be repaired on it was a timing cover reseal, front wheel bearings and front struts. All of which were simple wear over time issues. In the RV world, I challenge you to find a 2004 RV that's been pulled 230000 miles and has needed minimal repairs beyond regular maintenance. And the build quality for RV'S in 2024 vs 2004 is far worse according to many current and older RV owners (this area I admittedly don't have much knowledge, but apparently build quality went down dramatically around covid times. You're really knowledgeable with RV'S in terms of sales and you've taught me alot about good purchase points but mechanically and electrically I am extremely experienced. What I have seen honestly disappoints me.
