Myanmar is one of my favourite countries in the entire world! You are completely right, Myanmar has the happiest and most friendly people I have ever met. I hope so much that people can come and experience Myanmar for themselves, and I really really hope that the situation gets better for the amazing people of Myanmar very soon. I would love to be able to come back and explore more

It was honestly one of the best places I have ever visited! the friendliness of the locals reminds me so much of Laos, but something completely it's own. The bustle was like Hanoi, but so different. It is so hard to describe, but I cannot recommend it enough!! I really hope you can go

I agree the people are super nice. It is really easy to make genuine friends with locals too. There are a lot of sailors/international ship workers in Yangon too who are eager to make friends on shore leave and are genuinely worldly fascinating people with good stories interesting experiences. They are also well-read and super into education for education's sake. I'd meet a housewife who would want to talk about the history of X place because she was taking a Uni class on the history of X for fun..I also met soldiers who would give me their candid take on the whole situation there..facinatting .. My fav thing was the everything ever that you could possibly BBQ on a skewer (seafood, meat, vegetables ..all of them) BBQ alleys in Yangoon. Fresh, cheap, nearly instant, endless variety. I'd spend a decent portion of almost every night after work eating, drinking, smoking etc.. and chatting with local friends

Yeah, Myanmar has this super laid back vibe, I feel like it is a place where you could live in the same neighborhood for years, and have a completely different experience on the same side street every night. The night market night was unlike most places I have been, only slightly comparable to Hanoi or maybe Siem Reap... people are so friendly and open to conversation, teaching you language etc. I would love to teach there

@@BumblingTourist well said.it ended up paying super well there too ( once I negotiated a bit...the job offer as written online paid shit) ... they gave me an apartment downtown too. It might still be an excellent place to teach
