I wish I had listened to Dave when my kids were little. I saw hime once or twice and had myself convinced that it would hurt my children to put money aside because I was always struggling and juggling, working long hours and barely making it. I convinced myself that it wasn’t something a single parent could do but it is more important for single parents and people in poverty to learn… to create a budget & learn how to end the cycle and mindset of poverty.

Caller at 1:24:08 needs to check the will if she hasn't already. How did this uncle become the sole owner of the properties if her father had a stake in the property at the time he died. Something seems off with that. Her father's portion should have been distributed to her and her siblings unless his (or his father's) will indicated otherwise.

Dave's local grocery store... It will vary some with where you live, but EVERYWHERE should have raised wages by now due to the effective labor shortage due to people just not going back to work. There are a lot who just decided not to go back to work yet and they won't go back until they are essentially forced to by running out the government handouts.

“Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets: Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it!” ― William Hutchison Murray A little different from Ken's quote, but still good advice!

No!!....Do not fix the stinking Subaru with a leaky head gasket. And, no, Subarus with 100k are not "just getting warmed up." Point in fact, they are getting ready for a new motor. They all blow at 150k. Get rid of the darn thing.....And the dealers "sweet deal" ain't sweet at all. He sells you two vehicles that he knows will run through your service department multiple times. He's not doing you any favors - and trust me, car dealers NEVER feel bad for their customers. They don't care about anything but selling you a car and getting you to write multiple future checks to their service department.
@fhuber7507
@fhuber7507 Жыл бұрын
Depends on the year and engine in the Subaru... and how you care for it.. They don't all blow the head gasket at 150K Let the radiator hoses rot out and blow and you blew the head gasket. That's appx 7 years. Replace the hose at 5 to 6 years and you prevent that. Most predictable major failures are due to failing to prevent a minor failure. But once you blew the head gasket... the engine needs a rebuild.

Like I always said. Until your why makes you cry, the sacrifice will. Debt is literally killing the dreams of so many people, but they think they are stuck. They know they need to do something, but they can't see through all the media and nonsensical lies about "good debt" and how "debt is just a tool". Here's the truth of the matter. Our society places a premium on looking great and has this weird YOLO culture. They think "I can't take it with me, so I'm just going to spend it." Then they end up with 30 grand or even 100 grand in consumer debt. Dumb and astronomically stupid. Here's what the current culture doesn't seem to understand. What you wear doesn't matter. It's just cloth and thread. What matters is WHO YOU ARE. If you are a hard worker and kind person, you will be that way regardless of your clothes. There are billionaires who wear t-shirt and jeans. Wouldn't wear a suit unless you paid them enough money. Yet they are some of the most genuine and skilled people you could ever meet. I also know some real jerks who wear Armani suits and don't have two nickels to their name. Simply trying to keep up with the Joneses Here's the point. You have to decide. Only you can decide who you want to be and the life you want. If you want to be a world class swimmer, associate with world class swimmers. Do what they do. I have chosen to live like no one else, so later on, I can live and give like truly no one else. Now go be what you want. God Bless.
