I think Nicole should definitely limit things like fries and chicken nuggets for May. The problem is that Nicole is not even exposing May to a variety of foods. May doesn't like vegetables? Guess what... that's because her lazy mother doesn't even try to give her different foods! Try broccoli. Call them little trees. Make it fun! Give her fruit for dessert. I remember when I cut a kiwi for the first time for my little nieces. They loved it. It was fuzzy and cute to them. She's setting May up for a life time of eating disorders. Just my thought

Exactly. My niece who is almost 8 will eat anything. Her favorite food is fruit and weird seaweed food lololol. Shes not a vegan but she likes her food very natural and plain. kinda of funny... She's quite healthy and in many sports, super intelligent. Also, an old friend ruined her first child with junk food (shes still not the best mother- the kid is obsessed with Mcds and eats it probably every day. hes 14) and the second son.. idk she was so lazy with him, too...feeding him Mcds fried fake chicken nuggets and waffles under 1... friggin WAFFLES. Its SUGAR- there is NOTHING HEALTHY FOR YOUR CHILDS BRAIN IN WAFFLES. Like, just crush up a pack of Newports and sprinkle em on top of their oatmeal. Just as good! However the 3rd, the girl - she eats healthy and loves fruits and veggies like no other lol. (Also, that's the only child whos father raimed. and theyre getting married. So that probably helped. Plus lol he works in produce hahaha! I just realized that! oh thats so funny lolol)

FYI It's really NOT ok for kids to eat junk food. She might not get fat (yet) but she needs proper nutrition for all her organs, bones, etc. to develop well and for her brain to work well while she's learning. Also, right now, May is developing habits and tastes that will be with her long-term. BTW she also needs a sleeping schedule. This stuff is EXTRA important for growing children. May needs and deserves better.

Right? And I get that Moroccan parenting differs from western parenting, but if Asan can’t handle western parenting, but wants to be a step dad, he needs to date someone from his own culture. Because SHE is the legal parent of that child. And he has no say, regardless of what his culture tells him. Similarly, if she wants someone to help her parent, then she needs to choose someone who shares her parenting style. And Asan is right. Feeding kids junk food regularly is lazy, gross, and will produce fat kids who, twenty years later, will yell about how “it’s genetic! Mummy was fat toooo!”

I mean, if you want a guy to act as a parent you have to hear him out on his ideas of parenting as well. Parenting doesn't mean that one person decides how it's done and the other just blindly has to follow. Parents should discuss and decide as a team on such things. Also it's not like you magically just 'know what's best' for a child just cause you managed to get knocked up and carry a baby to term. There are some awful awful moms out there. If she wants to decide everything alone she has to let go of her demand of him being May's 'daddy'. If she wants him to parent she has to let him be a parent and take his input into consideration. You can't have your cake and eat it too, Nicole. Even though I'm sure you love cake.
@helenah91924 жыл бұрын
Well he just met May and she is Mays mother after all. Good he voices his opinion, but for now Nicole is making the final decisions as long as she isn’t abusing may. I think it was good for Nicole to stand up for herself.
@1983simi3 жыл бұрын
@@helenah9192 What I'm saying is you cannot have your cake and eat it too. From the beginning she made a huge deal about wanting that dude to be the father, bizarrely expecting the kid to call him daddy from even before meeting him. Fine, absurd as this approach is, if you want him to be the father and the kid to accept him as the father and him to play the father role, you need to give him a say in parenting too. Parenting isn't something that just one person does, but that needs to be agreed upon and communicated between both parents. Or you say from the beginning, you're not the dad yet, you watch my parenting style, let's see how it goes, eventually if you become her dad you'll get a say too. But that's not how she approached this from the beginning. More or less she wants him to feel like the dad and the kid to see him as the dad just as a means to tie him to her with emotional blackmail, while keeping the last say and pulling the 'But I'm the mom' card whenever it suits her. And sorry, often Nicole doesn't pull that card cause it's better for May, but just cause she likes being right and getting her way. For a child this kind of inconsistency is awful and confusing. How would the kid ever be supposed to accept his authority as a parent if she learns mom will revoke his judgement in the blink of an eye anyway when she's out to win an argument? There is no consistency to any of this. It's highly immature and damaging for the kid. Just cause you brought a baby to term doesn't make you a good mother. Being consistent and dependable does. Don't get me wrong, the dude is just as awful and immature as Nicole, but if I was him I'd never jump into that relationship. Even if they were married, I'm sure Nicole within arguments would still pull the 'I'm the mom, I have the say.' card just to make a point. It dooms the relationship of the couple as well as the relationship of the step dad and the kid from the get-go. You want someone to act as the dad of the kid, you'll have to let them act as the dad and give them equal parenting authority. If you disagree on specific points you have that discussion under the two of you when the kid is not there. But in front of the kid you need to be a unified front. You want to keep being the only parent to have the last word? Well, then don't expect him to play the dad and don't expect the kid to see him as the dad. You can't have it both ways.

I am most concerned about the child’s diet. Nicole never learned how to eat properly, and she’s teaching her child to eat like a child. This is why I get so frustrated when people from fat families claim that being fat is genetic. Body type is genetic. Obese isn’t a body type. Cultures that don’t have a large fast food presence don’t have high rates of obesity.

Honestly the comment from Nicole about how she has a full time job and can’t cook healthy meals at home is BS. I work full time and make healthy meals for my family every day. Sometimes we do eat out but even when we eat out we try to stick with healthy food. There ARE healthy take out quick options people can choose. It IS easy. Buy a pack of chicken breasts and some veggies, grill the veggies and chicken and boom... healthy and quick dinner. Even if you have a child give them homework to do in the kitchen while you cook or have them cook with you. It’s not impossible. And of course we do have the occasional fast food junk food but it’s not all the time. Maybe once a week or once every other week. She ultimately just has to really want to do it I mean I’m not trying to be mean but she looks like she either has diabetes or is in the verge. I use to eat alot of fast food bc as an American it's in our faces all the time, down the street, on commercials.. but ever since I got pregnant I can't even stand fast foods or frozen foods anymore it makes me feel sick and I try my best now to eat healthy and cook at home instead of going out plus it's so much cheaper than eating out. Don't get me wrong I still love to eat sweets and such but I try to keep a balance. It's important to keep a healthy balance and to take care of yourself. Nicole made it clear that she doesn't really like fruits or vegetables and likes to eat most burgers and hot dogs and fries. Nothing wrong with fast food every now and then but too much isn't good for anybody. Nicole has a family that enables her, she uses May as a pawn to get what she wants. Her family doesn't treat her bad, they just enable her. Nicole is lazy, and unhealthy. But her life, her choice.

It is more common for British to keep the fork in the right and the knife in the left and not switch, but the Americans will often cut with the knife in the right hand put The knife down and then switch the fork over to the right hand to eat. Then you switch back again to cut. Or the opposite of all this if they are left-handed. It seems inefficient but if you are used to it you don't really notice. I didn't notice if he switched back or if you had that part in the video but cutting the food with the right doesn't necessarily mean eating with the left. Especially if Americans are involved.

Just a little heads up it's not always as easy for everyone to lose weight. I have a metabolic problem and little changes for me won't do anything. I really need atleast half an hour of exercise daily to see any result at all when I have a normal diet plan (of 3 meals). Sometimes skipping a day of exercise makes me gain weight regardless of eating less or more than what I should have eaten according to the plan. It's a very complex thing and highly personalized which is why finding a diet that works is for some people very difficult. For me I know that what I eat is generally irrelevant, it all comes down to consistent exercising. For others the food part may be more detrimental. There's a lot specific variations.

Binge-watching your videos while I'm working. I've got a question about the Moroccan parenting you were talking about. What happens if a family has say, only 5 daughters, or only 4 sons - does the other parent help out then if it is a big family? Thanks for sharing your culture, I'm really enjoying this channel!

Yes they do! from what i've seen, parents actually share parenting responsibilities, it's just different from family to family

I get that Azan doesn’t like the way Nicole parents but he has no business trying to discipline only a month into the relationship and having just met the kid. He’s also got no business telling Nicole what to feed Mae.

Funny I'm a mom too like many women, and atleast one or two out of our 3 meals every day I cook at home myself. So, I'm confused, Nicole. Instead of saying I CANT make fresh home cooked meals every day, say the truth. Which is, I'm too LAZY to make a fresh home cooked meal everyday. You were looking for I WONT, not I CANT.

You already clearly sound more prepared to be a parent or step-parent than she does. Children absolutely have to come first, and you sure as shit don’t bring your prior-conceived kids from a previous marriage into a brand new relationship. That’s damaging to the fledgling relationship, but it’s even MORE damaging to the children. Get to know the person before you endanger your child or cause your child to become emotionally attached to a relationship that may not be long-term.

Nichole stayed with Hassan for 5 or 6 months during the pandemic & never lost weight. So she is just full of herself.

@Gina Maxey I'm still not convinced she was in Morocco, she never posted one current pic of her and Hassan together or even a pic of her by herself with any scenery, and if she was in Morocco I heard Hassan did not stay with her at all, and only visited her twice. I honestly would love to find out the actual true story behind these two. There are rumors she is getting her own show on tlc, maybe its a makeover show I don't think anyone has actually seen her in months 🤷♀️

I would think she would have lost weight with all the healthy cooking and walking around there. Plus, if they were together, wouldn’t Hassan have gotten her to work off the weight? Third, who in the heck leaves their toddler/prekindergarten aged child for that long??? 😭 I get worried/anxious/nervous about leaving my teen for a few hours for work or errands. 🥺

I agree with what you said about Nicole’s appearance. Some people are very confident at her size and that’s beautiful. She isn’t confident which is why she promised. It’s so crazy though, she wanted to peel his banana so bad, but didn’t work to lose weight which is what would have given her the banana pudding.

The fact that Nicole, in that self-righteous, pompous voice “when you have a child, you REEALLY have to know what’s best for that child”…and she’s feeding her the same garbage Nicole happened to say SHE only ate because she’s a “picky eater”. No, you just have no willpower. Good thing her mom seems to be raising Mae

It really depresses me how for many Americans frozen, canned and otherwise processed food and delivery food makes up their main everyday nutrition. Yeah, fine. In a pinch at max once a week one can order out or have a frozen pizza or something. But home cooked food tastes so much nicer and there are so many things that are very easy and fast to prepare even if you have a fulltime job. If you're really working a lot and have little time, just cook a big batch of something and portion it over a few days along with fresh bread. It's depressing to see, because I know people like her feel that all that salty, fatty processed stuff is the only tasty food. They don't even know the joy of fresh pure ingredients. They just seem to have completely underdeveloped and numb taste buds. But yeah, completely with you about Azan. Cook yourself, dude, if it's that important to you.

Agreed!! I was home for many many years with my kids and I always cooked from scratch. So much better! I'd love to have fresh market like that to go to every day. Now that it's just me and my husband, it would be easy just to order in, or when he goes to work it would be easy to throw a t.v. dinner in his lunchbox, but I cant do that. It just seems mean...

@1983simi Sadly in America it is very expensive to eat healthy to buy fresh fruits and vegetables cost more here than frozen or canned even alot of takeout places have dollar menus, there are only 2 adults in my household and my Husband and I spend a minimum of 200 usd a week on groceries and that's just for essentials alot of low income families don't really have many options especially if you have a large family

I am also a busy person (because I have a job, unlike Nicole) and don't have time to cook something fresh daily, but I do all of my cooking on the weekend for the whole week. It's called meal prep and lots of people do it. 😄

@@sarahj8761 its doable if you try. I raised 4 kids on a single income. My husband was the only who worked and I stayed home. We didnt recieve any help because we fell into that space where we made too much to qualify and barely enough to survive. By cooking from scratch and making everything homemade, I saved a ton of money by not going out to eat and buying store bought cookies and treats. People can do it if they make the effort.

@@juliefisk8066 I completely understand when I applied for assistance they told me the same thing I was told I made 4 dollars a month to much lol..It is doable I made sure my kids had 3 proper meals a day including fruits and vegetables, kids end up liking the food they do from what there parents give them May won't like vegetables and healthy foods because her mother doesn't give them to her so when she does have them they taste foriegn to her, and lets not forget hoe much children imitate there parents, she hears her mother say I don't like vegetables so May is going to say what she hears her mother say were are children's first teachers
