Yeah, I really hate that. And not even just the culture but even the amenities. It's one thing to be confused or fuck up a cultural expectation. That will happen by accident sometimes. But amenities? I mean.. you're literally shaming someone for not having as much as you do. I've been to places where the standard of living is SUPER different from the west. And I DO notice it, but I find it so interesting. Like "Ok, how do I do this?" and i only bring it up if there is some really odd looking shower or something and I literally have no idea how to use it. Then I just say "Hey, I haven't seen one like this, can you show me how to use it?" I don't know why some people get so freaked out because something isn't up to their own local standard. Like once I had to use a public toilet in this small village and the toilet was literally like some brick structure with holes in the ground (not floor. Ground. There was no floor) and the shit was piled everywhere, and sure, that was pretty nasty, ngl. But I still didn't bitch about it. Those people in that village all have to use it because some don't have their own bathrooms. And who is going to clean that? Where do they take it? I mean... Yeah. Like, be grateful you don't have to poo twice a day at Shit Mountain or whatever.

Last year during the pandemic here in California, my hot water heater broke. 😂😭 I can laugh about it because we (my sister, myself and daughter) made it fun and joked a lot about it. To buy a good water heater and have it installed it’s about $1200-1600 in California. We were taking tamale and pasta pots baths. 😂😂😂 thank goodness it was during the summer months (took us over a month to save up) but we would heat the water sometimes via the stove. I’m still called “pasta hair” by my daughter but we laughed about “showering” and screaming from cold water and the fun we had. No matter what circumstances or struggles, it always depends on your attitude about it…and perhaps the good company you carry along with you.

Yikes, so.. yeah. I have a couple of thoughts about this. So when I was living in China, really early on, I went for a walk one night in Shanghai and got myself lost. Most people didn't speak my languages, and I didn't speak Mandarin or even Cantonese. So I had to find my way back home without much help. Thankfully, I had taken a picture of my hotel on the phone, and people were able to help me find out the right direction from pointing (Thanks fam, it actually really helped.) So when you're in a really foreign country, a place you've never been where everything is kind of alien to your experience at first, it's not always advisable to be alone until you learn the culture and the rules. Granted, ok, they speak English in Nigeria.. I think. I think most people speak English. But it's still a brand new environment for her. I suspect Usman was off talking to his friend. And I think he needed to because he's about to marry a mean shrew and i know if my friend were about to marry Lisa, I'd have some stern words for that friend too. But I do KIND OF see why she was scared, if she was actually scared.

I am a 55 year old woman from USA . I stayed with my Grandparents in West Virginia back in the early 70’s there was no hot water unless you heated it over the wood stove. So you learned to conserve. Googled that for a list of scents, which look like standard candle & incense scents. I never heard of the behavior and have owned a lot of cats for decades. You should get him fixed... you already had him fixed, right? In any case, you are helplessly attached to Tux: you love him and you're his human.
