5:13 Here in Chessbase India livestream Hari said that there is a variation where instead of Bxc3 black can go Rac8. After that Bd2, now Bxc3 Rf3+, there is Kg6 because at the end of the line the dark square bishop is hanging. I think Max just messed up the calculation a bit...

Its been a really long and hard road for Hari. His whole career. I remember he was this new young kid, supposed to be the next big thing in Indian chess, after Anand. Ofcourse he has achieved a lot, but there is this feeling of him not getting to the absolute top. I hope this tournament turns out to be the one where he finally breaks that barrier. Ofcourse it will be super tough, but he is playing some good chess, so anything is possible.

This is the type of "chess" that we grew up playing! Insane and crazy sharp lines that'd let everyone the chance to blunder or playing risky moves (like Kg6), and even the top moves aren't enough to save you! Haven't seen a game quite like this in a long time!

The king is danger and to stop the mate it needs to reach the 8th rank

Because if he moves other piece then e2 pawn to e4 threatens knights , then knight moves somewhere e4 pawn pushes to e5 , opening up white bishop diagonal and pawn check to black king , so king moves , then white chops off black bishop( b7) . So pieces are equal but Hari is 2 pawns up , with good pawn structure and completely winning . So that king move by Max is best

There is no best time for castling ( yeah early castling ensures king safety but not surety you will win the game ) . They can play as per their preparation or something new that opponent is not much prepared of .
