Saw Spud teach Juji to use the weight holders as a step. Tried it. Still do walrus flop.

I didn't even know the walrus flop was a thing. I got the rogue (bad words on this channel, I know) reverse hyper scout that folds up and gets out of the way. It is so, so tall . I can't even really do the walrus flop if I tried and I'm 6 foot.

@@GutsBatman I prefer to think of myself as a killer whale flopping but just using the term that Sam used

Great job teaching beginners to ease into reverse hypers. You see some KZbin videos out there of people going all out, doing them wrong, and getting rid of them saying they don't really help.

I always felt that my lumbar spine was better after reverse hypers. Now I understand why :) The combination of excellent coach and the great details on the movements makes these videos great!

Awesome machine. According to Dave Tate, there are basically two ways to do this exercise: strict and loose, both valid and with different objectives. This video shows the strict way, it is best to combine both techniques.

Putting a foam roller between your legs on reverse hypers makes me feel the abductors soooo well

Good video on Rev Hyper, I prefer to not swinging the pendulum and Yes this movement is a must have in any fitness routine. Good Bye to back problems.

This was really informative, and helpful considering how many people just add weight and swing away halfheartedly. Great video, keep it up

I just got the titan fitness "economy" reverse hyper, this video helps a ton....I got this machine because I've had a herniated disk since 2008, this is the last straw before I have to do injections and possibly surgery so I help it helps

Another awesome video Sam. Maybe one on the different techniques on the pendulum and when each would be beneficial for what performance outcome. I never considered slow and contracting. Only thought you are supposed to do the pump and swing under for spinal traction purposes

I have the titan reverse hyper. For me a bit of swing / lighter weight, sets of 30 and 4 or 5 times a week has been the best for back injury rehab. I also use it tight like this video demonstrates for strength training.

Posterior chain developer sounds horrible lol when you have heard Reverse hyper forever 🤣 I bet Dave Tate has a habit of saying hey go get some reps on that reverse hyper lol

I recently joined a new gym with better equipment and I was trying to learn the ropes on this machine. A woman came over and taught me to do these the Westside way, with half the weight of my squat…what made you think differently than the way others perform this for “spinal traction?”
@eliteftsofficial2 жыл бұрын
Because the machine is built for hip extension and posterior chain development.
@johnwetmore95592 жыл бұрын
@@eliteftsofficial I find that answer both pragmatic and diplomatic-I’m going to try out the stricter variation this week!

Maybe I'm not understanding your method right but this seems redundant to me with this specific machine. You say you're not going to worry about the erectors and to focus on the glutes and hams but that's what you have the GHD side for. Why wouldn't you want to lower your hips an inch or two to work the erectors?
@Greg-wz6fp3 жыл бұрын
I’m guessing best day to do this would be deadlift day?
@RossMcDougall3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. I use a rev hyper on squat and DL days.

@@RossMcDougall Agreed. I do them currently as the last thing I do, but have also heard to do them before squat/deadlift. Haven't tried that yet.
