I've needed to hear this lately. I think I've gone so far down the 'ruining my self worth' by not taking necessary risks train that I'm having a hard time getting out. There's a Carl Jung quote I like a lot: "Only boldness can deliver from fear. And if the risk is not taken, the meaning of life is somehow violated, and the whole future is condemned to hopeless staleness"

Wow, this is great! It can be easy to overthink risk, but it can be as simple as ripping off a band-aid. It'll probably hurt in the moment, but after you'll be happy you got it over with.

This video resonates with me because it helps me realize, I'm already risking it, I'm already doing the effort to do this differently. This is the first time I'm not being hard on myself and I'm actually celebrating my own milestones, which, exactly, are different from what others might've already done. But I don't care, I prefer to risk thinking it differently, than staying in the same old mentality I used to have. Thank you.

Love this! Sometimes we might not even realize we're taking risks because we've removed all the pressure and shame from it and it's just become our new normal.

I find this video to be an argument against its premise.

@@greeneyedcat10110 It's a video that seems to be arguing in favor of calculated risks but it's just 12 minutes of the same aphorisms that have been plastered on social media, podcasts, and self-help pamphlets for decades: "Sit with your emotions." "Not choosing is still a choice." etc. It's a safe message--both safe as in familiar, and safe for the viewer because it's vague and isn't actionable, so that we can feel like like we have prepared to take a risk by watching this, without actually being pushed towards doing anything--in a safe format, with the safest vernacular. Nothing new has been ventured by anyone.

If the information seems common or repetitive it's because it's what works. The great thing about the online world is that different people can express the same point in their own way and have it resonate with those who relate to them. I can't personally push you to take a risk, that's all on you as an individual. But by sharing my take on a common topic I hope to inspire those who need a bit of a nudge to do so.

I know that it's scary but however think about it this way when you are laying on your death bed, how would you want to be remembered?, as the guy who never tried because he was scared or the guy who attempted and risked it?, and yes it might have not worked out but at least he tried

Wow, yes! Regret is more painful than the risk a lot of the time.
