This would only work on young children and in videogames, realistically. Most people who see someone stare at them from outside are probably not going to check outside and instead make sure their doors and windows are locked-maybe even call the police and/or prepare themselves to deal with the potential intruder. I also have to add: while there is a possible intimidation factor, a person outside wasting time making sure they're noticed instead of quietly breaking in doesn't really net you that much of an advantage, and being seen doesn't make you very discreet in the first place. I agree, people could find it scary, but if you stay in your home, have everything locked and have some self-defense tools at hand you're much safer than 90% of horror movie victims.

This is my theory of the game: Ending 1 mention the killer as 'assassin'. The little boy is all alone. His mom did not listen to what he had told her - about a stranger around the house. Not long after the message with his mom, a unknown number pops out. In my theory his mom had hire a assassin to kill his son. She gave her son's number to the assassin. Since she is a single mother (evidence: the room with single bed), she work a lot and did not give any attention to her son. She suffered from a certain illness (evidence: the medicine on her room). She is very tired and the need to take care of someone might be exhausting, since she's a single mom. In the text with her son, she sound uninterested and careless. She did not call the police when her son mention about the intruder. Instead, the neighbour call for him. "The assassin had escaped", the mom had inform the assassin regarding the phone call (police), which he managed to escape before the cop arrived. Why did i think too much into this game.

Home invasion things freak me out. When I was a little girl someone tried to kick in my front door and get me (They specifically were calling to me) and I literally was frozen in terror right around the corner of the door. Thankfully our door was strong AF (thanks dad) and my neighbor came outside with a gun and had the dude stuck there waiting for police to arrive. Top 10 scariest moments of my life.

reminds me of my mom. Back when she was a teen, her parents were away. her neighbourhood was known for home invasions and it had happened before. she had been having a really shitty week, so when she heard/saw 2 robbers trying to unlock her door (they didn't know she was home because the car wasn't there. She was really fed up and honestly pissed, so she grabbed a baseball bat and opened the door. She screamed at the 2 grown men to go away and threatened to use the weapon.
