Thank you! Exactly what we needed for our new orchard we started planting last year. It’s just for us, but still scary when faced with what feels like total ignorance. In just a few minutes, you made a real difference in our gardening lives! We miss Tuck so much and send you our deepest sympathies.

I have primocane blackberries that fruit on both first year and second year wood. Your advise to just sit back and watch for a bit is spot on. Like the peach tree, I've learned the color of the wood helps guide where to prune. True thanks for the ongoing shots of Tuck. Just makes me smile so much, SUCH a handsome boss. ❤

We were taught, "trim to the lateral". The lateral is about 1/3rd the size of the place to cut. On fruit trees, never cut off the fruit node. (reminds me, Feb is the month I must trim my 5 Pear trees)

Thank you for sharing this video!! I was just about to look up a video on this. You explained it in a way that was easy to follow! I have a really old apple tree that I need to have someone help me get the dead parts out of it. I have some experiments I want to try to see if I can salvage some of it just in case it is on it's way out. We also have a nectarine tree that my son and I planted a few years ago that I know very much needs pruned but I have yet to do it. I also need to get some neem oil or something for it because something keeps zapping it's first round of leaves every spring and that seems to mess up the fruit production. Thank you again for sharing this video!
@joemccall89914 сағат бұрын
Long-time grower and the only tree that has stymied me is our Korean jujube. We've had two fruit in ten years but plenty of false and actual buds. I have tried hard pruning, high-PK ferts, singing to it, but nothing has worked. The plan this year is tough love, heading the main trunk and branches to see if it stimulates fruiting.
