The blender was a top tier kill. My ex-roommate and I watched this together randomly years ago and it quickly became one of our favorite horror/survivor movies. Erin doesn’t get the respect as a final girl that she deserves.

The mom is played by Barbara Crampton, who's best known for Re-Animator and From Beyond, two great H.P. Lovecraft stories adapted by the late Stuart Gordon. Also we have multiple horror movie writer/directors in the cast, like Simon Barrett who plays Tiger Mask and co-wrote and co-directed this movie and the wraparounds of the first 2 V/H/S movies, Joe Swanberg who plays Drake and directed a segment in the first V/H/S and Ti West who plays Tariq and wrote/directed the Pearl trilogy

"Mother" is played by Barbara Crampton, who is a horror icon from the 80s onward. Her most notable classic role is probably from Re-Animator. Easily the best of the Scream Queens from that era in my opinion and a solid actor to boot. I love that she's stayed active in the genre for so long. Also, this movie is filled with indie horror cameos. Directors Larry Fessenden and Ti West are both in it (Fessenden dies in the opening and Ti West gets the fatal crossbow bolt at the dinner scene. Also, douchey older bro was an actor in this director's segment from the original VHS anthology. I'm probably missing others.

AJ Bowen, Amy Seimetz, and Joe Swanberg (who are all in this movie) starred in The Sacrament, which was directed by Ti West. AJ Bowen was also in House of the Devil, which was also directed by Ti West. He seems to have a core group of actors he likes working with, kind of like Mike Flanagan.

Omg You're Next is possibly my favorite modern horror movie! I saw this on a double date at the Vineland Drive-In back in 2013, honestly on a whim, and all 4 of us loved it soooo much that we even stood to watch the encore presentation!!! It was such an amazing experience the first time around that i nearly cried! Its rare that movies had made me feel that way in theaters since like 2004-2006ish so this was a rare surprise!

Erin is the G.O.A.T. final girl! I rented this movie about 2015 or 2016, and it became one of my instant favorites. I love when the intended victim in a home invasion fights back. My favorite kill is the blender, and my second favorite is the one where she beats the guy's skull in with a meat tenderizer. I have decided that if I ever have a break-in or a home invasion, Im grabbing the meat tenderizer first. So glad you two finally reacted to this movie!

Action horror really needs to pack it in. This movie was almost good but it just leaves me wanting to go back and watch Wes Craven's _Shocker_ instead. At least that movie had some style and some decent music score. This movie is fine but it doesn't look that interesting or impressive. Visually boring. Not a good trait for a horror classic.
