I am gluten free and have found that it is best to just bring my own food. For Thanksgiving I will bring my own bread, butter and silverware along with the food. I had a family member ask me about the butter I had to explain cross contamination. You are vegetarian but then Aunt Betty uses chicken broth in her famous mashed potatoes. It gives me peace of mind to bring my own food and I can sit and visit instead of worry.

I just LOVE watching your channel. I can so relate to when you were talking about the stain on the chair that you looked at all the time and finally faced the problem. We painted our front door many years ago a lighter color and it faces West and faded horribly. I have for 5 years wanted to repaint the door...5 years ! I sent my husband to the store and the paint store suggested a color and it only took me less than a day. Why, oh why do I keep putting things off when it can be resolved in just hours. I have for the last month been tackling those small projects and my list is down to just three more things and my husband is no longer nervous when I say " I've got an idea". :) I have so much respect for you as a family of 6 that you not only find time to feed your family home cooked healthy food but also have a You Tube channel. I use you as an inspiration as our children are moved out and on their own so I have no more excuses. I literally tell myself, If Kim can find time to do it then so can I . :)

I have never laughed so hard at someone making a recipe in my life. It reminds me of a cooking experience I had when I was super young & made molasses cookies, doubled the recipe on everything but the flour & had molasses very thin sheet cake & couldn't figure out for days what went wrong.. lol. Living in times where everyone and their uncles pretend to be oh-so-perfect on social media I appreciate you don't putting up a show but sharing the true real life. I embrace and salute you for not hiding any "flaws/imperfections" but owning your "mess" and making it work - it's so relaxing and comforting to watch (and it's good to know that I'm not the only "non-perfect" person out there). BTW you over-whipped the first batch of the cream......it needed just a little more whipping and it would have been home made butter (the liquid in the bowl was whey from which the fat molecules got separated).

About the pie: you used the wrong kind of wafers. That’s why the crust didn’t work. You didn’t cook the egg mixture long enough to be thick enough to get whipped and fluffy, and it was too warm when you added it to the butter. And you whipped your cream so long that it became butter, and the liquid was the buttermilk :)

So funny, I love your vlogs. As far as the pie goes, that has happened to me before it’s to much butter in the crust. So her measurements must be off. When whipping cream the whey separates from the butter. If you start your cream on a lower speed until it gets really bubbly then add sugar and turn it up you’ll have better results. Hope that helps.

Hi Kim I have a no bake recipe for you. DIRT CUPS ing: 16oz cool whip, 2 tbls. sugar, 1 pkg oreo cookies, 1 tsp. Vanilla, gummie worms, and your food processor. 1. Pulse oreo cookies to a sand like consistency set aside. 2. Cool whip must be soft, add 2c. Oreo cookie sand like consistency, sugar, vanilla mix well and refrigerated for 2 hrs. 3. In a tall cup add cool whip then oreos, cool whip then oreos again and last a gummie worm. Serve and enjoy. P.S. love your video.

Actually a pastry chef here 😅 the wafers were a lighter biscuit/cookie than a traditional chocolate cookie, hence the crust not forming. It may have helped to add slightly less butter, but given the wafers are so airy, you would have needed a lot of wafers to make up for the difference in weight, if that makes sense? As for the initial cream issue - it separated and curdled because it was over beaten, so you did effectively turn it into butter 😂 it’s happened to the best of us. As for the whipped cream on top, if you wanted to try to make it look “fancier” you can fill a zip lock bag with the whipped cream, cup a small diagonal corner off the bottom of the bag and use it as a makeshift piping bag to pipe the cream on top of the pie 😌 as for the base sticking, you could use some cooking spray before baking it which may help, but it’s likely because the tasty wafers weren’t dense enough - it still looked super tasty and you should be proud of yourself, Kim! Also, a quick chocolate melting hack - pop the diced chocolate you need into a microwave safe bowl and heat it in 10 second increments, stirring between each heat blast. When some of it has begun to melt, you can stir the rest together and the heat from the melted chocolate will gently melt the remaining unmelted pieces. It’s a slightly less intense heat blast than you’d get on the stove (I can imagine my culinary instructors at college shooting me daggers with their eyes for even uttering those words out loud 😂) And that apron is so delightful! Eek! Your videos just make my day!

When a wick is finished on a candle, I put the candle in a shallow pot of water on the stove to melt the wax. Then pour the melted wax in to chocolate molds and use them in a scent warmer thingy.
