Greetings from Scotland! This was 15yo Diana singing in an amazing Russian project "You're Super" for abandoned/disadvantaged children because Diana spent some years in an orphanage when she was 3yo. She is a natural dramatic contralto (VERY deep!) which is rare in females but exceptionally rare in someone so young! Diana also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones, so sounds like more than one voice when she sings, multiple voices sometimes! Diana was born way over in the far eastern side of Russia in Primorsky Territory, northeast of Vladivostok. Her adoptive family moved to Togliatti, in western Russia near the Volga River then after Igor Krutoy (a famous (DIMASH?) composer/producer) gifted Diana an apartment in Moscow she moved there and still lives there! It made it easier for her to study at GITIS International, the largest and oldest theatrical State Institution in Russia. She has an extensive entry in Wikipedia now which explains her sad early childhood. She is now 20yo and she has already sung in *7 languages, Russian, English, French, Spanish, German, Ukrainian and Arabic!!!* As you view more of her performances, covers and originals, you will see this is the tip of a giant iceberg!

I get it totally. I don't think the right words have been invented for what she is. I think that's a VERY old spirit. I have seen her talk on streams and despite her being so young you get the feeling there something ancient behind her otherwise goofy fun loving personality. She, psychologically, reminds me a lot of Lara Fabian, they would be friends. Diana (as in spanish or portuguese) An..ku emphasis on the dee, then nuva quickly. Took me a a while too, and I'm portuguese so I'm used to making wierd sounds. I never thought of her voice as masculine, to me I get the image of mother earth singing, It's totally feminine in timbre just very big and deep. The whole poliphonic thing is just insane and I have never seen an artist emote the way she does. There is SO much good songs of hers out there, I would keep reacting, it's like each song is it's own little world. La Vague for example, rarely reacted to, and is an immense song. As is Tadjikistan. And so on... A voice for the ages from our pheonix D. A. A gift to the world this girl is.

OK at this point, you will begin to realize that Diana has a lot of supporters and fans and you will be overwhelmed with them commenting. I also as one . two things I have to offer is do a background search of her history and you will understand why she is so emotionally involved. In her performances. There is a history to it and it also helps you to understand who she is and this reaction is just the beginning. There are so many other performances of her, and I can assure you she will completely surprise you every time no two performances are the same and she will give you that wow factor. Deion-ahh Ankoo-Dean-ova. It's easier to remember when you put the "dean" in there. This song was the final and winning song in this Television project featuring orphans and disadvantaged children. Diana was an orphan who was adopted early after an abusive and destructive Mother left her on the street. Her covers of Dernière Danse and Wicked Game were the songs from this contest that first went viral and took from a local talent to millions of views on the world stage. You ought to check those out. Rechenka at age 14 (same show) is her most spectacular performance and frankly a world class performance, so if you have any interest in her at all you should watch that. If you want to go way back watch her perform a cover of the Beatles Oh Darling at ten years old from a radio broadcast booth. You can hear her deep, powerful voice at that young age...it's pretty remarkable. Enjoyed your video. 🙂👍

This is the last of the seven performances that Diana gave across the 2018 and 2019 seasons of "You are super." All seven are in their different ways incredible. In order, they are: 2018: Derniere Danse, It's a Man's World, Rechenka, Tomorrow is a Lie 2019: Blizzard, Wicked Game, Human. Igor Krutoy had accompanied her on piano when, in the fourth and final part of the 2018 show, she had given a fabulous performance of "Tomorrow is a lie," the song he had composed for Lara Fabian, who wrote the lyrics. After it, he took everyone by surprise by announcing that he would buy her an apartment in Moscow so that she could move there and study in a top-music school. She was 14. He kept his word and she still lives there to this day.

Diana truly is like no one else. Thank you for supporting her. Her name is actually said a couple of times on the Can't Helping Falling in Love video. It's actually dee-anna (rhymes with Rhianna) ankoo-dee-nava (the nova is not emphasised, the o a dropped vowel, with the emphasis on dee in the second syllable). The last syllable sounds a bit how we would say a sort of lazy "other".

Diana's phenomenal. If you want to be blown clean out of your socks check out her performance of Rechenka. Rechenka means river and it's about a young Russian orphaned girl who is about to be married and is unsure of herself so she goes to the river (symbolic of the gateway between life and death). There she talks to her dead mother and seeks her blessing. Diana not only sings it she enacts it!

"Can't Help Falling in Love" was from September 2021 when she was 18. for those who do not know Diana's back story, here is a brief outline : abused and abandoned as a child....was MUTE...raised for years in a Russian orphanage...her adoptive Mum provided voice and singing lessons as trauma therapy...Diana is a natural Contralto, rare and the lowest type of female vocalist...is polyphonic ( able to sing multiple tones or notes simultaneously )....and she is a divine performer........

Earlier you guys saw “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, where she was 18) This performance is from a singing competition aired on the Russian NTV Network called “You’re Super!” (“Ты Супер!”). Diana participated in the 2018 season when she was 14, won, and returned again in 2019 for the “super season” composed of other winners of previous seasons. She won this also by singing 3 covers, all masterpieces in their own right: Blizzard (Вюга), Wicked Game, and this song, Human, which she said was her favorite to perform; it was aired just a few days before her 16th birthday. As a contralto, this part of her voice is the most comfortable for her to sing in; she could probably sing this song for hours and not get tired! I recommend seeing “Wicked Game” next, from just a few weeks before. It’s a super dramatic take on the song and has some of my favorite vocalizations from her

Что для меня является самым привлекательным в данной кавер-версии популярной песни? Вокализы в середине композиции - настоящие анкудиновские вокализы, которые в таком виде и с таким качеством сейчас, я думаю, не способен воспроизвести ни один артист. Тот великолепный низкий звук, который она нам здесь продемонстрировала, очень хорош, он всегда производит должное впечатление - но спеть что-то подобное вполне было бы по силам и некоторым другим артистам с соответствующими физиологическими возможностями. Здесь важнее не сама возможность голосового аппарата - которая, как мы понимаем, в таком виде бывает очень редко - здесь важнее артистическая гибкость и смелость, умение выстроить хорошо сбалансированную картину из всех этих звуков. Диана Анкудинова этими способностями обладает - и мы слышим результат, причём не только в этой песне. Но вот эти вокализы - они вообще сильно меняют всю картину; именно они, а вовсе не низкий звук, придают всей композиции другое качество, выводят её за рамки общепринятого. Вы, разумеется, не ждёте от 15-ти летней девушки пения в такой низкой тесситуре и с таким впечатляющим качеством звука - но ещё меньше вы ожидаете услышать в поп-песне эту "шаманскую" вокализацию и увидеть этот "шаманский" танец. Как ни крути, это совсем не похоже на поп-музыку, к которой мы более-менее привыкли. Диана Анкудинова превосходно умеет это делать - привносить в хорошо знакомую песню что-то своё, необычное, выводящее её за рамки жанра, за рамки привычного и хорошо знакомого. Она меняет наше представление о том, как можно исполнять поп- и рок-музыку; она придаёт свои анкудиновские нотки практически любой музыке, которую исполняет; она избавляет нас от рутины и езды по наезженной колее. Мы не только к этому привыкли - мы ждём от неё, наряду с песнями, исполненными в традиционной манере, и таких песен, - песен, сильно преображённых её неповторимой индивидуальностью...

I hope you two will check out her Yodeling videos. She's FANTASTIC. She was SO GREAT in fact, that she auditioned with a song called Yodel Time when she was twelve year old, I think? That audition FAILED! But because it failed, and because it was SO OBVIOUS that she was better than anybody else who had auditioned and had been accepted, the entire show was exposed for being on the take! DIRTY, FILTHY stuff going on there; favoritism, money changing hands, the entire thing was a GIANT MESS (and had been for several years prior). All of that came to light just because she auditioned. Fans were FURIOUS with every adult involved in that show, and not just Diana's fans!

@@Killermcknight Awesome! Hopefully that one video is still up but it may have been deleted because of the scandal (would not surprise me one bit). I have not tried looking for it in years now. Just in case you can't find that one, here is a really fun alternative that I know can be found on Diana's personal channel (although, NOT yodeling...). During lockdown, she covered Camilla Cabelo's song Havana. She did everything herself, she did 4 or 5 takes and edited it together. She was something like seventeen years old when she did this. It's a FUN and adorable video. :)
