Not only an inspiring message, it's the truth. Awesome group of people down at Tree House who just "get it" and want to bring light into the lives of those who need it most- and that's not just smoke. Look no further than the all the men who entered the program broken, on the verge of surrender, and walked out with a new lease on life ready to breathe this message back out into the world.

It is so so so hard to see who my daughter really is beyond the part of her who is the addict because she is so blended with her addict part it s highjacked her whole system and the life style that comes with heroin addiction. I can only work with the part in me who suffers seeing her daughter taking the risk day after day to over dose, to handicap herself, the risky life style and how she would traumatise herself somemore to feed her addiction. It is so hard waking up in morning remembering the second I open my eyes that my daughter is suffering in so much pain at risk. The last thing i think of before i close my eyes is how she pressed the pause button on having a healthy relationship with herself her parents her family her friends her education her personal and emotional growth and I could be waken up in the middle of night by a call saying " I am sorry but your daughter died of an over dose a minute ago" ..... Nothing can prepare a mother for such challenge .... Not even the strength that i use these days to let her go one day at a time until something switches in her mind to want sobriety before anything else, even this strength, no wisdom can not prepare a mother for the worst....

You are a light worker. Some of the most evolved human beings have struggled with addiction. It isn’t evolution born from addiction, but evolution born from the recovery of addiction. Your message is a light in the darkness, beaconing a safe harbor to rest, heal, and obtain the knowledge of a different way. A path to self respect and self love. A path that leads to life without fear. A path to finding true happiness within oneself. People are people. One no greater than another. We are all on different levels of understanding and personal growth. An observation that someone shared is humans get stuck (for lack of a better word!). We get used to something, and can actually forget there can be so much more. In the words of Bono (Paul David Hewson of U-2), “You’ve got to get yourself together. You’ve got stuck in the moment, and now you can’t get out of it. Don’t say that later will be better.” We all have times when we are “stuck in the moment”. Thank you for lighting the way for others. Your work is not in vain. 🌸💞🕊💞🌸

My name is kris Watson and I'm a 21 year old drug addict. My drugs of choice are coke/crack, heroin/fetaynol, and meth. I've been using the coke and crack for 4 to 5 years, heroin and fentanyl for a year, and the meth for 2 months straight, also used it many different times over the years but mainly just past few months. For the past 6 months I've been actively trying to stay clean but in the past 2 or 3 months I relapsed and haven't been able to get back on track first the meth took over, then the heroin came back and now I'm stuck and need help, it's so hard to get into treatment because of waiting lists and because I dont have money to afford it. Even before these drugs I've been an addict since I was 12 or 13 because that's when I started, with alcohol and then the weed, and it just progressed to mushrooms, ecstasy, pills and various others. It has all led me to my drugs of choice which I have been battling ever since, slowly just watching myself basically dying. I am saying all this as a cry for help, I need to go away for treatment but like I said I cant keep waiting and I just dont know what to do please someone help me get to treatment somewhere and fast. Also I live in Canada. Thank you for listening.

I wonder at what point people will start actually addressing the cognitive dissonance between a message like this and the 1st Step. Now I'm not invested in 12 Steps at all at this point though it is possible to frame it as a specific point in time, that you were powerless when you had that recognition and you need to get help - I could see it as about being honest at that point, in that moment. But that means it's about the situation at the beginning of the journey and not who you are, and I have never seen it framed that way by the many who have spent a ton of time in those programs, which I imagine wouldn't be that hard if one actually had that perspective and clarity but that's not what's articulated, and even if you say people who don't understand it fully when they're new why aren't any of the more mature veterans of those programs saying "no that's not what it means"? Instead and especially online we just see people defending those programs like "it's helped the most people ever" without qualifying for success RATE which means percentage and proportion and not total number. (you get a big enough group, even a low percentage is a high number) This video has 24k views but over 5 years - we know there are a lot more people out there and unfortunately they don't seem to be interested in thinking about it clearly.

Think about this: If something was discovered as untrue either at the local meeting level or perhaps even with the standard literature, how many would stand up and say something? If any? And if someone does, how many would listen?
