@@jajsiw Well idk what kind of cage u have but if u can take the Bottom off u should set the Top (where he is probably on.) on a table or ground and clean the bottom where is poop lays and just set the top on the bottom sorry if u dont understand 😅

Im giving ky birb an unfair life we cant afford him to get a bigger cage but his sister (i think) a few months ago but we have him up on a windowsill and my neighbours gave me my first bird last christmas and they have loads of bird so we leave my bird erin to talk to the other budgies to anyone reading this if you know how to take care of one you can get one if you want just make sure to always watch bird nugget for tips as we all know but if you dont know than DONT get a budgie they are delicate and will die if any purfume of spray or oder is sprayed and put your hand in the cage of your budgie and keep it still for 5 mins and when the bird starts to get used to you then after 1 month or 2 the budgie should be close enough to you to the point it will come out but WASH.YOUR.HAHDS before interacting with the budgie or bird and i hope you read this bc i need this to be top comment that would make my year❤❤❤

I have a double decker mouse or cat or ferret or whatever cage for my birds. The bars might be too wide, but so far Winter's only figured out that they preen his head really well

Even with the cage having a tray to catch stuff, my lovebirds manages to get seeds and pellets onto the floor. I was almost guilty of the too many toy things since I didn't want either one of them getting bored while I'm at work, I have toys divided evenly between the cage and the out of cage playground. Tweety already managed to shred one of the toys apart. I'm also guilty of the dowel one since the cage came with one, though I also bought some wooden branch like ones and two half log ones and a ladder that they managed to strip bark off the majority of.

No mistakes here! Our birds fly free in the living room. Swings, perches and toys are in the window overlooking the garden. They can see our chickens from there and the hummingbirds are also very close as there is a feeder there within a foot or two.

my birds seem happy sleeping with the cage closed in a dark room, without a cover. it's very dark, but not pitch black. i think that they will be scared if I suddenly I try using a cage cover. is it really better?

It depends. If they seem to sleep well without a cover and aren’t having sleep terrors, I’d reckon you’re fine. Keeping them in a corner of your room tends to help. My Amazon sleeps on a perch in the corner of the room - with no cage and no light. He seems to deal with it just fine; but I’ve had occasions where he gets spooked in the middle of the night for seemingly no reason and he tries to fly. If your bird is in a cage and doesn’t seemed to be stressed about sleeping in it, I wouldn’t add a cover quite yet.

I had mybird die 7 monthd ago, i never closed his cage, he was always free to get out and get in (except i was closing his cage whenever he got down and opening it back on when he climbed up, ge would get so mad and was starting to yell me to call my mom) God i miss him.. He was in my life for around 7-8 years.. He died of a cancer, big tumor appeared on him and squezed his lungs..

Can someone please explain why my buddies of 5 days and my budgie of 3 years suddenly died.There were no signs what so ever in fact in they playing and eating just fine when I came down and saw the older bird at the bottom of the cage with the younger one still alive but paralysed I picked it up and it died shortly after I’m crying right now because I got the new bird so my other one wouldn’t be lonely

I do not agree with the cage cover one. Some birds can chew the cage cover and ingest fibres or get their toes caught or even hang themselves. Better to place the cage in a dark room at night and use a blockout blind/curtain at the window.

Remove them to a carrier or different cage if you’re worried about them flyin around while cleaning.

Uh, you usually just take the tray out. Doesn’t really mean you have to open any doors. If they get out, turn all the lights off and out one light near the cage. They will fly towards it.
