Criminal behaviour when politicians can still work for $500,000.00 to $2 million & still get the pension. Absolute criminal. Apply the same $204.00 a fortnight & stop parliamentary pension. Now that is dysfunctional & inefficient.

I owe the ATO 16g for work I did during COVID. I have been paying above the agreed amount but they are charging 11% interest in the debt. Basic math says over 1 month I only pay $36 off the debt. When did I agree to pay interest on debt owed? I never bowed that money. My bank interest isn’t that high. The ATO is a scam system designed to keep people poor. Good luck to them getting blood out of this stone

The foundation of the taxation system is that people will maintain confidence on the fractional reserve banking system where debt is the primary driver of economic growth and improvement to living standards. The absence of mandating superannuation in saved Super cash in exchange for physical gold for people who don't have a trust because it's too expensive goes to show that there is a contempt by politicians and bureaucrats for poor and middle class people to own gold in superannuation to avoid long term inflationary pressures.

In 14 February 1966 we converted to the Dollar, by 1978 we had lost 97% of the BUYING power, can you imagine what it is today... Income tax was introduced to pay for WW2... Foreign owned mines (including gas) Pay NOTHING. Australia's mining industry is 86% foreign owned; BHP is 76% foreign owned, and Rio Tinto is 83%. Between them they constitute 70% of listed mining company resources....

How about a 15 %consumer tax so we pay for what we use as individuals. PAYG at 12% across the board. Superannuation optional. Abolish negative gearing for companys except for new builds. Abolish capital gains tax for private individuals ( keep for companys) Corporate tax at 20%.

I strongly disagree on Franking Credits, no one should pay tax twice on the same dollar. That said it is very reasonable for large earners to pay over 30% in tax but if you look at the biggest earners in Australia, very, very, very, few pay more than 10%. I have to give Gina Rinehart a plug here she is not a blatant tax dodger like some individual iron ore billionaires. Another lurk is CEO's like Alan Joyce get away with being given options tax free. That must stop.

A handful of predominantly foreign owned gas corporations export 90% of Australia’s gas. They receive most of the gas royalty free, contribute less than 2% to Australia’s budget, often pay little if any tax and receive enormous taxpayer subsidies. Both major parties know this, they keep us energy poor & themselves rich while we argue over expensive renewables.

I pay tax on the money I make, then have to pay tax on the taxed goods I buy then have to pay tax on the interest after i pay tax on the income, pay tax on capital gains taking capital risks, paying taxes on high government salaries to government that doesn’t represent the money I spent. Including road tax, land tax, speed camera tax, local council tax, sales tax, alcohol tax rises expediently every 6 months, stamp duty tax, food tax, energy tax 100% rebate soon to be 100% unaffordable. Tax is all they have. Without us they have NOTHING

flipping oath we created a business and franchise that created thousands of jobs. We sold up for a meagre amount and always were honest and we owe as most as much as we sold for after yrs of paying massive amounts in tax even when we’re were close to bankruptcy. So now as self funded retirees we face jail time for struggling to pay huge taxes. We would’ve been better to work for someone than b self employed.
