Sonny, you're starting to verge on perfect with nearly every song lately: the arrangements, the voice[s], the interpretation; the "filling your space" that good singers always do -- purely amazing!

Oh my, Sonny, have you finally recorded a song that I'm going to love as much as "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic"? I still go back to that one over and over, but this one brings me the same kind of smiles that won't go away. Impeccable! Both Tenor Sonny's (and sometimes even Baritone Sonny) have just the right hint of Peter Cetera. It's enough to make the song sound authentic, but not enough be called an imitation or an impression. It's perfectly charming. I love this song, I love this arrangement, I love everything you brought to it (including the shirts). I can't think of anything new to say, but you know me, Sonny; if I'm comparing this to "Every Little Thing," you know you hit me hard. By the way, I may have lived in Puerto Rico for 48 years, but I grew up 90 miles from Chicago.

Yeah, this is a great arrangement done well. A great original song and this show how much can be done with just vocals.. And I also really like Sonny's every little thing she does is magic.. so many good things..

Awesome!! Thanks so much! I love how you're always able to get the subtle things. It's kinda weird, because you're always right on the money. I was absolutely going for the essence of the Chicago vocal sound, but most definitely didn't want people to think I was trying to pull of an imitation. Thanks for mentioning it! ❤️

Beautiful and seamless modulation. The modulation May be the greatest musical tool of all time. It gives new life to a song, usually right in the middle where one has come to expect it.
@sgtsonny
@sgtsonny 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, sir! The modulation can be frowned upon by many musicians because of its excessive use in pop songs that are now considered 'kitsch'. Like many Eurovision songs... It's a shame, because it can indeed be such a great tool!! Just listen 'Love on top', 'Man in the mirror', 'Wouldn't it be nice', 'To be with you',... I could keep going. The list is endless!

Wow. Very impressive, I love how this arrangement really gave each of the 4 parts their own identity, well supported by the camera cuts and wardrobe to highlight some aspects while keeping lots of ensemble shots for people like myself who enjoy dissecting the harmonies. This is marvelous.

I really like your work, Sonny, and I love this song having spent the 80s in high school and college. However, for me this arrangement was just a touch too much Alvin & The Chipmunks and not enough normal male tenor. Peter Cetera was already pretty high and it doesn’t work for me making it even higher. Gotta say the bari/bass parts were well done, though. All of this, of course, is just a personal opinion. Great up the great work and I’ll keep listening.

Jack Mandu Thanks a lot for putting that image in my head! Oh well--I always loved The Chipmunks. Now that you mention it, I can hear it--but for me, it works. To continue with the zoological theme, I think Sonny's vocal cords are part chameleon.
