My hair is kinky and this gets my hair pretty straight without having to flat iron after (although sometimes I do) but it has to be on high and my hair needs to be damp. That’s the best way for curly/kinky hair types. Also you have to use a heat protector.

Spray it in your hands rub it together and distributed through your hair, it’s a lot easier if you section it either half and half on the sides like the right half of your head goes on the right side in the left half goes on the left side or if you separate top half and then bottom half like me if you have layers

SAMEEEEE 😭😭😭 this is the exact fucking reason why I purchased the Drybar Oval One Shot dry brush a year ago though and it’s the best ass decision I ever made for myself or my hair and it’s health altogether 🥹🙏🏼 haven’t looked back ever since! Idk why the One Shot is so much better at working out the stubborn waves (I call em “dents” cus that’s what they look like to me since my hair’s half straight half wavy when left to air dry 🤣🥴) than the other similar tools out there, or what they’ve done to it exactly to make it work so much better than the others, but honestly, I don’t even care at this point cus of the results I’ve gotten from using it this past year or so now and counting 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ my hair has gotten SUPER long now as a result of having less breakage- it actually honestly weighs too much now for my roots cus now I have a volume loss problem since I have too much hair these days 🤣 I’d rather have this prob though!- and it also takes me wayyy less time to give myself a blowout, even if I’m fresh out the shower with still all wet/damp hair when I first start, this thing is THAT good! I’d marry it if I fucking could lmao 😂 I promise you, if your hair is like mine, you should def invest in the Oval One Shot!!!! Best dry brush tool out of them allllll in my humble opinion!

Girl get the Drybar Oval One Shot! I have it and it’s literally thee BEST round brush dryer I have EVER used in my entire life, it’s just a bit pricey up front (similar to when you purchase a really nice brand straightener) so it does take a solid $80-$100 depending on where you buy it from upfront, but the investment is well worth it!!! 😍 For context (if it helps 🙏🏼😌) I have fine, delicate, long strands of hair individually, but a SHIT TON of em lol, so my hair appears at first glance to be thick, but it’s actually not. It’s just “abundantly fine” is how I describe it to others all the time 🤣 but even when my hair was shoulder length a couple years ago (it’s currently mid-way breast length) the only difference in my hairs behavior was that I had more volume back then up top, but that’s it. Everything else (hair products, care, tools, etc.) was exactly the same, and length didn’t matter for me when using my dryer oval one shot, so length is irrelevant. My hair is also a naturally straight/wavy combination (if I brush it every 15 mins until it thoroughly dries- which I never do lol- it’ll dry straight, but if I brush after showering and leave it to air dry til it’s dry altogether, it’ll kink up into a wavy/straight combo mess 🥴) and then, whenever I use a normal blow dryer and round brush/blow dry brush, I’d have to go over it a bunch (with the dryer up super close to the hair on the brush) in order to get the frizz eliminated from my strands, it was a pain! My hair will straighten out somewhat easy with a dryer and round brush, maybe like 3 or so passes just to get the waves out- this does NOT eliminate the frizz though, i need extra close passes after the straightening passes in order to achieve that with regular dryer and round brush 🥺- and this is ALL when my hair is both wet AND dry, although when my hair was wet i obviously needed plenty more passes to dry it first before working out the frizz 🥴😩 so it was def a workout for my arms to use a separate dryer and brush styling technique for my hair! So i got the Drybar brand “oval one shot dry brush” during an Ulta sale- best decision I ever made for my styling routine/hair health- and that’s cus I now need WAY less passes to both dry AND style it, better frizz elimination, smoother strand outcome, saving me time (but adding just a slight bit more weight in the hand to use it, but just use both hands to hold it while you’re styling with it instead of one and you’re golden; small sacrifice for the results it gives!) and girl, I’m TELLING you right tf now: I. 👏🏼 HAVEN’T. 👏🏼 LOOKED. 👏🏼 BACK. 👏🏼 EVER. 👏🏼 SINCE. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼 I promise you, it’s 100% WORTH IT.

Yes u can use it with curly hair to protect you hair right after showering use a leave in conditioner preferably pureology color fanatic and then use a blow dry cream to protect your hair preferably one by redken and if you will straighten your hair again use a thermal spray thats it!

The heat is not a problem if your hair is still wet. It's only when your hair is completely dry does it actually get hot from the brush. Don't confuse the heat of the tool with the heat your hair gets too. If your hair feels hot to the touch then it's already dry so stop.

because frizz. I prefer a smoother look, for myself. Some people can pull off natural, frizzy, wavy hair, perfectly, I don't consider myself one of those. I'm much more content when I control the situation with tools and products.
