Michael Anthony's voice was so signature to the VH sound.
@StudioDaVeed4 жыл бұрын
Mike in my opinion IS Van Halen. If he had never been a part of the group, sure; Eddie, Dave, Alex would have been great, no doubt...but something would have been missing. Mike's singing and stage presence is legendary. Live Mike is also the 'screamer'...it might have been Dave in studio but on stage that is all Mike.

Michael Anthony is without a doubt one of THE greatest backup vocals in the business. And he plays a mean bass, at that! He's the kind of musician that any band would be privileged to have in the lineup, top shelf player.

It a freaking cover song. The "licks" are not his own!
@talcoge674 жыл бұрын
@@betornween Seams easy enough to copy a guitarist licks. Whenever i watch bands live or even most youtube videos, the lead guitarist misses a lot of Eddies licks during You Really Got Me Now, Mean Street especially Atomic Punk. John 5, Dweezil Zappa and Steve Vai do a pretty good job... Even the guitarist from the band Atomic Punks skips a lot of Eddies riffs...

@@robmaynard5524The Kinks made HISTORY with that song. When 17 yr old Dave Davies took a razor blade to his amp he created his "distortion" sound. A sound some say created every rock genre to come afterwards. If not EVH may have never picked up a guitar. VH took all the desire for the girl out of it.

@@cobain_92 Yes! And, it’s what was said in England when the King died. It also has the implications for the next king raising to take the fallen king’s place. BUT, I used the phrase to honor Eddie as the “king” and for his memory and work to “long live” in our hearts, music, and lives. I am truly heart-broken. I am 49 years old. Diver Down and 1984 were the sounds tracks of my Jr. High years. 5150, Eat’em and Smile, OU812 were the soundtracks of my high school years. My band played “Outta Love” off of Van Halen II for the big rally after the Football game in high school in 1989. Three months later, I was in Sacramento in the Summer of 1989 at the OU812 tour. It was amazing!!!

Eddies gone. You know, when a band has such an influence in your life, you almost feel a connection to them somehow. Van Halen was the soundtrack of my teens and that portion of your life is what shapes your taste forever. I never knew Eddie, he had no idea I even existed. But I will never forget him and I still have every single CD they created in my CD case in my car. It's all I listen to, even before Eddie passed. Now they have a special place. John 5 covers this like no one else could. He is just as passionate and dedicated as Eddie was.

Best VH cover I have ever seen. John 5 is pretty much turning out to be the one that is going to inherit the throne, and is the only one that can actually correctly cover Eddie, from what I have seen over the years, even Steve Vai isn't that close. For the comment about Micheal Anthony being the real key to the VH sound, you are largely correct. Without him, it doesn't work, and Wolfie knows this.
