Yep, or finally get out to running it & then some simple fix is needed & you have to go back home to do it. Had a rear wheelnut unscrew on my stampede 2wd 3 minutes into a bash after a 10 minute walk. Ofc brought screwdriver in case a screw was backing out on me as i have seen before on it, but not the wheelnut tool lol.

In the US, the Quantum Flux is about $90 cheaper than the MT10. Despite the breakage, it just might be the best value 1/10 truck.

Thing i dont get, Back in the 1980's when BMX Skateboarding and Skating were popular, Councils gave us no Skate parks of BMX tracks, Yet now, when there are bugger all BMXers Skaters or boarders they build hundreds of Tracks and skate parks, Are the Government and their councils really 40 years behind the times????

100% I kept contacting local councils in the late 80's and early 90's about getting some skateparks built. none were interested. Now they are everywhere. I'm in Aus too.

I bought a Associated MT10 when you reviewed it and changed out the lower A arms because you did. It is still going strong although I do not bash like you do. It was a very good choice.

I love my Associated SC10 Short Course racer. MT10 is the same car with Monster Truck tires. Associated parts are plentiful, one can find 'Better than Stock' parts and you know they wont go out of business. The Worlds Cheapest R/C car gets expensive if you have to buy a 2nd parts donor car to fix the 1st one.

I have both of these and absolutely dig both of them. I broke the front control arm on my Rival MT10 on the 3rd jump( and it was not really a big jump either) I haven’t broke anything on my Maverick yet. Think it was just one of those bad landings and in the cold as well. I equally abuse them both. I’ve had to adjust the slipper on the Maverick once and popped a front suspension link off once. I Highly recommend both! Great video as always Kev!

For me personally the Rival mt10 is the one to choose , i have a video on both and ive had bad luck with the Maverick..... Good video mate 👍🏻

Give it to Max and Sempy to have a go they did a good job with the MT10. Personally the MT10 took more of a bashing before it broke anything but it looks promising, we have to wait and see how it does next time out 😊😊😊😊😊

Wow seems like a tank! The rival mt10 has weak stock arms as well. I feel like that first driveshaft was a fluke. Does rpm make arms for it? It needs rpm lower arms and a Max durability test! Same test the mt10 had.

If you are talking cheap like 100 dollars than a red cat truck is pretty good. I have one and I ran it into a tree at full speed and have rolled it a bunch and it is like it is brand new. It also is so fast and fun to use

I've owned both of these and I prefer the MT10 but both have their fair share of issues and neither are indestructible. The MT10 has been around longer so there are far more upgrade parts available. With upgrades, the MT10 is much tougher.

I vote for the new mics - we can hear the RC sounds when you test indoors. [Outside] If they are loud enough you can still hear it through the mic.

Would aluminum wheels help on the speed run cars? If the wheels can’t deform the foam can have a better chance wearing evenly in theory. Also when you come to Florida you should try and collab with Cleetus McFarland You could put a mic on board the RC then have RC sounds without wind noise and your mic with the wind protection.

Maverick really made a great rig with the q2, but sadly they used the same driveshafts and shocks. Both of which were an issue with the older models (I'm well versed in maverick quantum flux issues lol)

The wind-blocking is 9/10. I personally think I hear the vehicle much better, or at least its that I can imagine how it sounds better. Or maybe it is because the sound of Wind is like nails on a chalkboard, regardless I think it's much nicer with the new mic.

It is unreasonably tough, and a blast Update: I paid $300 tax included for my MT10. I see the price is $340 now, not including taxes. I'm feeling a little more neutral about it now.

Wind noise is really annoying in videos. I’d much rather a slightly muffled car than hear any wind noise. Hope this helps!

I have had one for last 6 month and main problem i had was the rear dog bones pop out ,the front cvd,s snap , the spur rounded and it rusted bad but other from that it's done well and took a beating 😁

Mt is deff a good truck, but the Maverick has just as good performance and durability for alot cheaper. Then money's saved could go into the Mav and make alot better for the same coin as the Mt. I'm getting a Mav this wk. Good deal for the moneys

My MT-10 is Fire I have put it thew swampy 10 hrs then a snow storm same day jumping it at the skate park I can go on and on. Still have the original tires that's blown out at least 5 times each with heavy gluing. And that's it. Bought when you first did the first video on it. Thanks Kevin.

The driveshafts do seem to be a weak point on the Quantum. I got one for my lad and it broke driveshafts on each of its first 2 runs (just on short grass with small jumps, no “too the moon”). Perhaps the lack of replacements tells a story? They have bought out upgraded shafts now (despite denying the issue when contacted) so will see how they go. Apart from that it seems a great little truck for the price 👍🏻

The Quantum is great in the price point. I doubt i would break it under normal running conditions. Skate parks are death on many vehicles. Parts availability should be on HPIs list of improvements. I am an HPI fan and believe they can do better.

I’m about two minutes in and I’m calling it. The Associated is better/more durable. Considering I watched and rewatched all the abuse the Associated took without breaking, and I watched the live fixing of this Quantum Flux thing wherein it appeared that you broke two, I think the Associated’s crown is safe. Now let’s see if I’m right at the end? Edit: Ok I watched till the end and given the absolute beating the associated took, and the lack of parts support for the quantum thingy, I’m surprised by the conclusion. But what do I know?
