I already like this video for showing the problem of gathering pieces. The pick-a-brick is nothing like "buying them easily" though. Bricklink has an upload tool, but you can't get that from one supplier, so you pay multiple times for shipping. Webrick is the best when it comes to the process of bricks selection, but the bricks are knock-off ones and the quality is terrible. Lego should step up their game by simple allowing us to upload the parts list to pick-a-brick, otherwise it's a chore when you need to buy 100+ pieces.

Agree with all of this.

as someone who primarily buys my bulk for mocs via WeBrick, the quality is honestly on par with lego most of the time and sometimes a touch lacking... which is what ive ran into with lego itself honestly with the most recent moldings. but if lego had the ability to just let me buy parts for my Mocs id go with it as honestly WeBrick is pretty pricey.... cheaper then bricklink even before shipping, but who knows if they'll ever do this :

@@shroomzzz I don't know about system bricks, but for Technic bricks there is a designed leeway so for example gear rack structure doesn't collide when sliding against something in the parallel row. I ordered parts from webrick for a Technic semi tractor MOC that I built previously from Lego and the quality was terrible. I had to use a hammer to put some pieces together, had to still use some original pieces, otherwise the piston engine wouldn't work.

If you just build alternate builds, buying multiple sets is the obvious choice. But when building completely custom models, no amount of sets is ever going to get you all the parts. Most Bricklink stores with a large variety of pieces also have higher prices, so most often I find Pick-a-Brick to be fractionally cheaper. Getting all the required pieces in a single order is also nice. Pick-a-Brick is really slow though, so that might also be a consideration to buy from Bricklink.

Awesome. This is the first rime to see such a large built. It is so impressive. Really good job. I enjoyed your footage from the big one. Keep up the good work.
@Letsanum2 ай бұрын
Yeah from seeing one of these in person a lot the second is way more accurate but it just suffers because the plastic isn't super strong or rigid. Not to mention crawler cranes either fully disassemble to move or inch along like a funny caterpillar fashion with their boom

When that thing was swaying from side to side during rotation, it did look scary. Just stand well back and keep it away from any fragile or expensive objects. You might need the red rough terrain crane to clean up the pile of rubble.

As an owner of the Mould King variant of this set, I will say that their version is more satisfying given that it provides the desired scale and functionality at 1/5 of the price of this MOC. You have to really appreciate scale details and mechanical replication for this MOC to be worth the price. The MOC is however much more fulfilling than the original LEGO set, and I would argue that the more accurate scale although less spatially practical makes the play much more fun. I thoroughly enjoy my Mould King variant and am steadily modifying it to be more laterally stable and improve track functionality.

Very interesting article for me as I've recently bought these additional parts. I use BrickOwl in the main as I find it easier and only needed 4 suppliers although I used pick-a-brick for the yellow frames, the cross axles with eyes, and the sprockets as they were significantly cheaper! I have replaced the additional counter weights with beam wall containers to hold steel washers saving more than 50 GBP.

an idea would be that 2 sets makes them easier to resell if you don't plan on keeping them both forever - perhaps more resale value. If you want to keep it as a decoration... then I guess bricklink, or pick a brick is good...

There is a crane from Mould king a alternate for lego and they have a crane that should be the same model which lego also used it is way cheaper and has around 4300 parts and can reach up t 2.3 meters in high. It ist the Mould king 17015 which was realesd over 1 year before the lego one buy this set and compare it to this bigger lego moc.

Recently built the Arvo Brothers Robocop MOC. First time using the Pick a Brick function on the Lego website to order a lot of the parts! Still had to get some from bricklink and other places but it was quite good. If they’re bestseller parts they come quite fast but a lot weren’t so had to wait over a month to get those parts! Other than that it’s been pretty good. Didn’t realise I could get points for buying pick a brick. Planning on using it again to build a custom Art piece- at least I’m gonna get the 16x16 technic art plates from there as whilst they can be found a little cheaper on bricklink, most bricklink sellers don’t have them in the quantity I’d need so I’d be paying multiple shipping increasing the cost. PABing them makes more sense. But all the other parts I’m bricklinking, including over 5000 cheese slopes! 😂
