I want to signal boost this literally everywhere! I love that you spoke on this topic, it's one of much frustration for so many of us. Also love what you mentioned about people coming up to you to pray for your healing. It's important that people focus on acceptance rather than just trying to "fix" disabled people Also love that you mention how important it is for us as disabled people to also recognize the intention with which we are approached and not get so hung up on being frustrated by ableists The drawing turned out adorable btw 🤩

It is. I wish we lived in a world with an evolved sense of responsibility but we don't and the best thing we can do is work with people who are willing to listen. Hopefully that population will grow.

As someone who is fully able bodied, it's good to hear things like this. I mean, I always try to treat everyone equally, but sometimes we all need reminders, and sometimes people just don't know what to do, because, as you said, we're trained from such a young age that anyone "less fortunate" needs "special" treatment. It's always good to not assume. Thank you for stepping out to share. I know you're going to help so many people with these videos.

You are so amazingly thoughtful in the way you interact with people. I hope one day that rubs off on me.

I have never had anyone grab my wheelchair and started pushing me around! Wow.

You're lucky. I've had it done twice now. One thought he was "helping" and another was just like "Oh I just need to get something right past you" and just moved my like I was in a stroller. My next chair will not have push handles.

@@ATouchofHoney Golly! So far, people have been really nice to me, been in one about 10 years now, but just when we leave home. My husband goes with me everywhere, but like you said, sometimes he will leave me looking and go off and do the other shopping. I would prefer to use the rider carts, but most of the time, the kids are in them cruising...makes me so mad.
