You *should* clean your Shark Vacuum Filters!

You really need to wash them very regularly! The single cyclone is inefficient resulting in a large amount of fine dust being sent straight to the filters. How to clean: just like a big sponge. Soap, water, lots of rinsing, and then let them dry. Nothing special.

I wash both filters with soap and water until they are clean again, then rinse and wash out the holding compartment. Let dry for 24 hours and shes back in business! I love my shark! Thank you for the video!

I never changed mine since I bought my vacuum it was DISGUSTING! 3 years worth of dirt, remodeling, new carpet, dog. Just gross I can’t even believe it. Needless to say I cleaned it now and soaked it in bleach for a half hour and will let it dry overnight. Thanks for the video

@DannaGoat My suggestion is once a week toss both of the filters that are below the dirt bin in a quick wash by themselves in cold or warm water with a table spoon of liquid laundry soap like Purcell or Tide and never use bleach on foam filter as it shorten the life of the filters. After washing the filters you can lay them on a sheet of paper towel and air dry for 24hrs or longer if they still feel damp.. The wash instructions are for a front loader washing machine. If you vacuum daily I suggest ordering an extra set of filters this way the washed filters can completely dry in-between uses. Also never use fabric softeners when washing the filters and never use a wet vacuum filter in your vacuum as this can damage the vacuum motor.

Being a service engineer who sees far to many vacuums this isn't just a bagless issue even "Henry" or Numatics need a 6 monthly filter clean, Dyson are the same, Vax & Hoover all the same. Best money can buy vacuum upright wise is a Sebo BS360 but will set you back £299+VAT

I wouldn’t say a Henry needs it’s filter cleaning as the bag catches most if not all the dirt. I’ve never had to wash the filters in any of my Numatics during my ownership (I washed them when I got them but never had to re wash them) But that’s because I use only GENUINE Numatic bags

Simply have 2 or more sets of filters so you always have a clean, dry set. I throw mine face down in the tub and spray hot water with shower wand(bit of dish sozp)
