Love to see clips like these where we see the inside conversations with gaffers and dps. This helps a lot of filmmakers really understand what goes on with creating the image and not be afraid to ask for help from your gaffer or even the director.

Thank you, this was a great insight to the dp gaff relationship on set. When they built the set, wouldn’t it be easier for you guys if they dropped the back wall in the cube and had a blue wall further back? (assuming you were doing blue screen). Would imagine it would make it easier when it comes to lighting it evenly, avoiding shadows and a blue colours cast reflecting of it?

question, why didn't you back off the blue screen 2 meters back and light it separately?

5:26, that's every shoot. I've never worked with a gaffer, my shoots start with "wanna help out" and I always end up being a "camera/lighting/director/editor" crew member that's way underpaid lol. It looks like fun to work with a team and everybody being professional and collaborative!
