I mean, if you want to see a bomber varient of the Geonosian fighter, I think the Solar Sailor would be a good template for that. Each prong could have an sonic cannon, the main weapon in the center like normal, a bomb chute in the middle, and the ship could run with a 2 man crew. One flies the ship and fires the main cannon, the other handles the bomb bay and the sonic cannons. With the cockpit obviously moved to the rear for ease of use so the pilot hive can all learn the same controls for the ships

Screw a bomber, I most often imagine Battlecruisers, based on the same chassis. Sometimes with a central Hangar bubble, for carrier variants, or a large turbolaser, or a chainblaster cannon. Those are the hot shit.

I think the most impressive part about this ship is the fact that it's totally domestically produced. It's one thing to make a top-tier starfighter, but it's even more impressive for one isolated planet to mass produce a design that can rival almost any other. Geonosis is basically the only planet outside the Core to build their own top-tier military with no outside help. They dod did this to avoid becoming dependent on others.

The more I learn about some of the thoughts and details of the cultural design of the Geonosians, the more fascinating they become, as well as more alien. Insect and hive species are always bizarre and I respect how some people and some writers are able to get Into that mindset so well. While I complain about writing a lot, I have to admit I couldn't do half the things do e in Star Wars and get even a handful of people to even read it let alone like it.

I think a key reason we don't see this ship (or similar models) outside of the Geonosis scenes is due to the extremely niche design, which capitalizes on unique Geonosian traits. Most obvious to me is the use of pheromones to convey information, but there are other species-specific features that other races likely could not easily replicate. The cockpit, for example, is very form-fitting, almost claustrophobic; the bubble canopy, unlike many other craft, somewhat impedes forward vision but enables 360 degrees around, which complements the Geonosian eye structure; I'm sure there would be other features along those lines that other races simply could not replicate, even to their own anatomy.

The ones that weren't piloted by Genosians were flown by droid pilots on occasion in the clone wars, which was the only other kind of pilot that could fly them somewhat effectively. They had good long range accurate firepower and decent maneuverability, but they lacked in other areas. One problem were the limited weaponry it would have for dealing with larger ships like Star Destroyers. Given the Empire gassed Geonosis, whatever defense fleet was there couldn't stop the Empires heavy ships from decimating them and it was to hide the 'Death Star' project that the Geonosians had helped create. This would be the largest genocide committed by the Empire leaving 100 Billion dead, with one survivor that Darth Vader eventually stole a battle droid factory from, that being the sterile last Genosian and Queen known as Karina. The Genosis Fighter also had lengthy production times being hand crafted, the absolute need for specialized pilots which were in limited supply and were primarily made to be used in atmosphere more effectively than in space. If the fighter loses it's pilot, could it even be used by another Genosian or would it need a droid pilot from that point on? The ships not having interchangeable pilots wouldn't help the limitations of actually piloting one by sense of smell. Genosians had poor eyesight. Palpatine really didn't like the Genosians given the way they basically suffered total extinction that only a Kaminoan would be able to fix if they got a hold of some genetic material and the Kaminoans didn't fair any better either.

Might be cool to see a Geonosian bomber, but at the risk of being boringly realistic I don't think a defensively-minded isolationist planet would have the need for offensive space or air power. If they had anything in reserves during the war just in case, they would probably just buy some Hyenas.

I need to use this video as a platform to discuss something unrelated from Wookieepedia: I just noticed that they added pronouns for everyone which may be a nice thought. I have 2 thoughts on the issue: 1) I can't think of a character in Star Wars who doesn't use the pronouns of their gender so making a distinction seems arbitrary. That said I can see how it shows solidarity for the people who really care about how they're gendered. I think my second thought matters more. 2) People are making decisions on behalf of characters who largely never stated their pronouns. It's possible that the characters in their respective books and shows were misgendering them, possibly as a sign of disrespect. Who is to say? Well, in some cases the person with the say is not the creator of the character. Warlord Zsinj is a great example of this, the author of his book has died and someone decided on his behalf that Zsinj's pronouns were he/him. We don't know if Aaron Allston intended for Zsinj to have nonninary or female pronouns and it seems disrespectful to potentially alter any aspect of a character on behalf of a dead author. I'd like to hear another's thoughts though, at least try to change my mind on this being utterly disrespectful. I think in theory it's good but in practice it's like someone arbitrarily assigning gender pronouns which is exactly the way that real people get misgendered and offended.

This year Wookieepedia is just making terrible decisions after terrible decision. Recently they banned a lot of Russians and stopped linking to Russian wiki because of this gender bullshit. Russian language can't support non-binary without using dehumanizing "it" because every verb is gendered and they banned people because they pointed that out. This recently promoted English Wiki administrator that forced this change had the nerve to fix Russian Wiki articles using Google Translate without understanding the language for 3 past years. Wtf was that? It looks more like petty grudge than genuine attempt at inclusivity.

I'm not part of the lgbtq community and my attitude towards it is "ok and/i don't care what gender you like". 1) Star Wars was written in a less open minded generation but I don't think that's the thought 2)I feel like unless otherwise stated by characters or creator it's safe to assume that they're using their sex as their gender. For the example given I can't give any input as I don't know the creator or character

I remember it being OP in the OG Battlefronts. So I figured it was a big boy, thanks for confirming this. 👌

I never gave much thought to this fighter. To be completely honest , I didn’t even know it was Geonosian. Kinda cool to knowing more about it.

Would it be wiser to use the tractor beam array that the Geonosians use instead of one or two tractor beams? This method could make it so that if a few of the other tractor beams caught something hazardous, they could shut down and the others could take over.

I think the nantex is cool because it looks more like an ear ring than a spaceship.

I respect this ship. Had the first Lego set they made of it, so that plays into it.

I agree with you on the innovative and cool design. The rotating parts are somewhat akin to my favorite Rebel era starfighter, the B-wing.

Ah, yes, the Nantex swarms which keep ambushing the Acclamator in the asteroid belt whilst you're busy with swarms of other fighters.

I imagine the Geonosian Starfighter (G-fighter from now on), in a slightly different way. Some of you might know that I'm rewriting StarWars. For the G-fighter, I imagine it being one where the pilot enters the center from the side, and then it flips 90-degrees so the "hatch" is "under" the fighter proper. It just feels more StarWars-ish. I'm not married to that, but whatever. I also like the idea that they utilize the weapon differently. The idea being that the fighter's only (or main) weapon is to generate an overpowered blaster bolt OUTSIDE the ship between the two main prongs. I should mention that in my imagining of the fighter, the pilot wears a helmet that synchs up with the two bulbs on the sides of the fighter (sides, after it turns 90-degrees) and the cameras therein, giving the pilot a kind of telescopic view of the world around him, the cameras folllowing the eye-movement of the pilot. The overpowered bolt would be comparable to a low-end Turbo-laser blaster bolt. The ship gets one shot and loses almost all power to make that shot, needing to leave the battle and let the reactor recharge the power in the ship before it can rejoin the battle. This one-shot mentality would mean that the G-fighters would likely hold onto their one shot, glowing and outside their ships, for as long as needed until the perfect shot arrives. This means that capital ships, even large ones, would HATE fighting the G-fighters... but also mean that any swarm of mediocre fighters, like the TIE-fighter, could probably overwhelm and bully the G-fighter.
