Ive just fitted aluminium replacement rear and front shock towers from rcmart on ebay the parts are made by Xtra speed. Front one is XS-TA29040 and the rear is XS-TA29041. Very well made and pretty cheap. I also have a g11 part coming, soon as I comes i will give the details.

I did something like this a year ago by using a avante 2011 chassis and cutting it and using the avante 2011 rear shock tower mount. pretty cost effective since the chassis new was 28$, love fibrelyte but they have been a pain to deal with for me so i will prob have to pass, maybe later.

I’m left wondering why I would put carbon parts on a model where the manufacturer decided to put plastic where metal should be, you know, like the shock bodies and caps, the chassis, the suspension uprights..etc. Tamiya is the KING Of toy grade RC for hobby grade prices.
@xXYannuschXx2 жыл бұрын
Why do you need metal for the shocks, chassis or shock towers on 1/10th?

I was considering one of these but that front end looks so fragile. And the new "G" spot looks sweet but I'm scared to touch it...👉😂 I mean the car....hahaha. It will be a shelfer and VERY light runner so plastic is fine for me. 👍

@zackthebongripper72743 жыл бұрын
For the price Tamiya is charging for this kit a carbon G11 like this should have been standard. Then, Tamiya could have offered a carbon and aluminum shock mount as a hopup. That would have been smart and offered value. This is why I'm skipping the VQS and buying a Top Force Evolution instead.
@RCKickschannel3 жыл бұрын
Going by the available stock levels I think the VQS did sell the numbers expected. I could be wrong but I get the feeling people like the VQS but for the price tag it should have had a few upgrades like this one as well as a kit branded motor like the 2011 Avante. The vintage one didn't come with anything special but as a rere it would be good to keep the idea of date branding rere kits.

More fragility issues due to Tamiya’s poor engineering practices! The original Vanquish was meant to fix the fragility problems of the original Avante, and they just end up creating new problems! On top of that, the VQS itself is a revision of a revision - and it still has fragility problems! How pathetic! How many revisions does Tamiya need to get it right? The VQS is a revision of the original Vanquish, and the Vanquish was a revision of the Avante! And you can’t even use a 3D printer to resolve the problems of that G11 weak part! The filament material would not be strong enough to bear the loads in the geometry required for that G11 part. You need a freaking machine shop just to get one RC car running properly! One top of that, he even had to use another full kit just to cannibalize parts! He had to cannibalize the metal conic parts from a Tamiya Avante 2011! This is pathetic that this needs to be done on a 3rd-generation revision released in 2021! When is Tamiya ever going to get it right? The Kyoshos look boring, but at least they can finish a race.
