Yes, $250,000 per account. You are allowed a checking, savings and money market. You can also spread it over multiple banks. If you have 1 million dollars, you can purchase additional FDIC to cover the gap between $250k and 1 million. Also, if you have 1 million or more, you can go through a Federal Reserve Bank not an FDIC insured bank. Also, if you are Uber wealthy, you bank through a private bank that is not FDIC insured.

Quality of life is betterin Poland than UK, even tho in UK you make more money and have a bigger international buy power.
