Having seen and heard Ella in person with a famous driving big band at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis in I think it was October of 1956 I became forever after a rabid fan. She was simply amazing. She could sing ANYTHING and DID! That night she sang a hit rock song on the charts by Lillian Briggs, "I Want You To Be My Baby," and brought the house down. She was always so self-effacing and shy-seeming but in truth she knew exactly what she was doing and was fully aware she was a genius.

Wonderful, just wonderful. Thank you Ella and Joe. I never got to see Ella live but I was fortunate enough to see Joe Pass live back in 1990 in Muskegon, Michigan. Jeez, the man sounded like he was two guitars.

This actually happens sometimes if the recording is on magnetic tape, a little bit of audio from a few moments before or after can bleed onto another section of tape if the two sections are next to each other when the tape is rolled up.
